From first-time voters to helping neighbors navigate the polls, October 24 was all about making voting more accessible for everyone! 🗳️🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined Muslim Vote Day in Memphis and the Immigrant Vote Party in Nashville! We were excited to welcome so many first-time voters and support voters who needed language assistance.

Remember that as a voter, you have the right to bring a trusted person to help them with language assistance at the polls. Everyone deserves the opportunity to make their voice heard!

A huge thank-you to our volunteers and partners who made these events possible. Our communities are stronger when we come together, stay informed, and make our voices count. Early voting ends tomorrow October 29th, so don’t miss your chance to get out and vote!

ANNOUNCING OUR FEATURED ENTERTAINMENT FOR AMAC'S 2026 EMPOWERING WOMEN CONFERENCE!

AMAC is bringing together unique, relevant voices who break barriers, challenge the status quo, and inspire our community with fresh, transformative perspectives. That's why we are thrilled to announce Sabeen Sadiq as our headline entertainment for this year's conference, Rekindled Hope!

Sabeen is a New York-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer known for her sharp, whimsically honest comedy on Muslim upbringing, family dynamics, and faith. Having opened for comedy icons like Hasan Minhaj and Kumail Nanjiani—and featured at major festivals like San Francisco Sketchfest—she brings an unforgettable blend of laughter, reflection, and relatable storytelling to our stage. A special thank you to Human Appeal for sponsoring our evening entertainment and making this special gathering possible!

Our 2026 conference theme, Rekindled Hope is an invitation to reconnect with our faith, our purpose, and one another. In a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming, hope is more than optimism; it is a source of strength rooted in tawakkul (trust in Allah), resilience, and community. Through meaningful conversations, reflection, and shared experiences, we are reminded that hope grows when Women come together to support and hold space for one another.

Rekindled Hope brings this vision to life through inspiring scholarship, practical empowerment, and authentic connection. AMAC thoughtfully curates a diverse lineup of Muslim and non-Muslim changemakers who are actively pioneering new spaces and challenging the status quo. Our keynote speakers include Zaynab Mansour Ansari, whose decades of teaching and community leadership offer timeless guidance rooted in the Islamic tradition, and Rana Abdelhamid رانا عبدالحميد, founder of MALIKAH and Hijabis of New York, whose work equips women with the tools to build safety, confidence, financial independence, and collective power.

As a women-led organization, AMAC understands the commitments you balance and provides essential support services including on-site babysitting, discounted hotel room blocks, and attendance scholarships; so that cost, travel, or childcare never stand in the way of your presence.

YLP Nashville held its second session this past Tuesday for Local Government Day! Students researched current legislation and participated in a mock council session in the Metro Council Chamber at the Historic Courthouse.

Students debated BL2026-1448 (Data Center Moratorium) and BL2026-1497 (No Right on Red), making arguments for or against each bill and attempting to persuade their fellow cohort members to support their positions.

These youth leaders also stepped into the roles of Nashville residents and council members during a simulated public comment period, sharing their perspectives on the proposed legislation.

Vice Mayor Angie Henderson , At-Large Zulfat Suara , and District 25 Councilmember Jeff Preptit, Esq graciously spoke with Cohort 8 about what motivated them to join the council and the contributions they hoped to make through public service.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions, gain insight into the perspectives of elected officials, and seek advice as they continue to develop their leadership skills and consider the impact they hope to make in their communities.
