Last Monday, Town Hall East welcomed Joshua Peterson, Sandra Korbelik, and two new board members. Thank you to the members that were able to join, and for those that missed us, watch your emails for a link to the upload on Youtube. This May meeting marked the end of our 2025-2026 year. We’ll still be busy this summer but you’ll be hearing less from us until we pick back up in September.
Joshua Peterson, the founding artistic director of River and Rail Theatre Company was our first guest of the evening. He shared with us their plans for the newly purchased Sterchi-Audigier home at 2651 East Magnolia. With no plans to change the exterior facade, renovations to the interior will greatly improve the experience for both the actors and guests. Currently they are raising money towards this goal and hope to start construction later this year. Follow the link below to donate or see more about their campaign.
Sandra Korbelik, retired City Planner, warned of changes the upcoming fall election may have to Mayor Jacobs’ project, Advance Knox. His goal of update Knox County’s growth plan for the first time in 20 years, will hopefully protect agriculture and open land while managing growth in response to an increase in population. If our current administration is unable to finish this project before the election, we will need to elect those that we can trust to complete the comprehensive plan effectively. They will also need to deal with the county’s $761 Million in outstanding debt. We may not be able to avoid a tax increase despite our fiscally conservative past mayors. (Get out and vote this fall!!)

THE held our annual elections and we welcomed two new board members, Scott Crammond and Emily Crozer. We are excited to have 2 more members of our community ready to make a difference.
