On November 18, the Arts & Culture Alliance and The Maker City will host a Resource Fair designed to help local creatives connect with the support and resources they need.

Regional artists: there's still time to submit your work for The Art of Community, the next installment of UT Medical Center's The Art of Healing exhibition series.

Entries are due by midnight on Sunday, July 5.

As celebrates its 70th anniversary, this juried exhibition will explore themes of community, connection, heritage, healing, transformation, and the ways art enriches our well-being.

We're seeking artwork that reflects:
• An overall theme of community, togetherness, connection, history and/or heritage of Knoxville and the regions throughout East Tennessee;
• A creative theme of transformation, restoration, peace, emotional expression, creative journeys, catharsis, nature and/or the healing power of art;
• A connection between art and mental or physical well-being.

The exhibition will be on view from July 28, 2026 through January 2027 at UT Medical Center.

Join us tonight at the Emporium for a First Friday showcase curated by Nick Marlow, featuring Teryn Dixon and Jacc Moran.

Teryn Dixon Music is a singer-songwriter and musician from Knoxville, TN, known for her engaging folk-Americana, R&B, jazz, and blues-infused sound. An active member of the East Tennessee live music scene, she often frequents local open mics and community events around town. Teryn is a playful, uplifting, and warm spirit that weaves that identity into her music, which helps listeners to feel seen, known, and a sense of belonging.

Jacc Moran is the singer and songwriter of the band Run 40. He grew up in Memphis, TN before moving to Knoxville roughly ten years ago. Run 40 released their first album "High Water" in 2023. Since their release, Run 40 has continued to perform live in East Tennessee venues, cultivating a dedicated local audience. The band integrates elements of folk, country, emo, and slowcore into their music.

This First Friday, experience Cam de L’àmé ("Camera of the Soul"), a photography exhibition by Chet Overall.

Rooted in conceptual and storytelling photography, Cam de L’àmé explores the raw, unfiltered moments of everyday life. Rather than idealized scenes, Overall's images focus on the streets, the overlooked, and the lived experiences that often go unnoticed, revealing beauty, complexity, and humanity in unexpected places.

A native Tennessean raised in Athens, Overall spent a decade living in New Orleans, where he worked as both a musician and photographer, capturing the vibrant and ever-changing culture of the city. Now back in Tennessee, he is excited to share images drawn from years of living, working, and traveling through a variety of places and communities.

Opening reception: First Friday, June 5, 5:00–9:00 PM at the Emporium Center.
