Had a successful (and safe!) morning picking up trash along Merchant Drive last Saturday. FYI, Village Church helps maintain this mile stretch as an 'adopt-a-road' project for the city of Knoxville. It's a privilege to care for God's creation as well as care for our community. Thanks to everyone who made it out to help!

This week's newsletter. Remember the Merchant Drive clean-up tomorrow morning, 7 to 9, to beat the heat! Safety vests, trash bags, and trash-grabbers are provided. Maybe bring your own gloves. Start early with some breakfast burritos at 6:30 AM! Yum!

This Sunday, we'll return to Ephesians 2 as we continue the theme of salvation - how once we were dead in our transgressions and sins, but now are made alive in Christ Jesus! God has broken down the barrier between us and Himself, as well as the barrier that human sin has created between us and one another.

Our prayer theme fits the text as well, as we'll be contemplating eternity and the ramifications of not being reconciled to God through Jesus. Pray that all may come to a knowledge of the truth of the Gospel - for this is God's desire, that all should be saved (1 Timothy 2.4).

This Sunday we'll be reading and praying through the powerful salvation text of Ephesians 2.1-10. And our prayer theme for the day is also salvation. We pray that all may come to salvation in Christ Jesus and experience forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.

All are welcome to worship with us Sunday mornings at 10:30 - whether you've known the Lord for many years, or are a new believer, or even if you are still searching for answers, you are invited to Village Church as we seek the Lord together.

We're in a new series at Village! Drop in Sunday mornings at 10:30 for praise, prayer, and a powerful time in God's Word. This Sunday we'll be sharing in the Lord's Supper as well - and all followers of Jesus, no matter the background, are welcome to share Communion. This Sunday, we'll be opening God's Word to Ephesians 1.15-23 and a key prayer in this section is vs 18-19 where the Apostle Paul prays that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened! We always need the Holy Spirit to illuminate God's revelation about Himself. A good prayer to pray before we read and meditate on God's Word.

Eph 1.18-19 "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength."

As you meditate on this text this week, here's a song to help you pray and sing praise - for praise and prayer always go together.
