We're throwing a fancy party to raise money for public safety scholarships.

Apparently, calling it a "gala" sounds much more sophisticated than "a bunch of us getting dressed up, eating dinner, and listening to Spare Change."

Either way, March 5 is going to be a good time!

Well, we weren't expecting this one!

Apparently, Officer Grainger has decided to become a sponsor of our Beyond the Badge: A Night of Honor Gala!

We are excited to announce our FIRST Sgt. Sponsor, Officer Grainger!

We're still trying to figure out where he got the money, considering he doesn't get a paycheck, but we appreciate his support!

Thank you, Grainger, for helping us raise money for public safety scholarships. Now, if we could just get you to pay for your own treats!

We’re excited to announce that Spare Change will be bringing the live music to our Beyond the Badge: A Night of Honor Gala!

Join us on March 5, 2027, at the Kinston Country Club for a night of great music, good company, and a whole lot of fun, all while honoring our first responders and raising money for public safety scholarships!

Tickets will be on sale soon!

Go ahead and mark your calendars. We’re planning a night you won’t want to miss!

Gala planning update: The ideas are expensive, the volunteers are tired, and somebody keeps saying, “Wouldn't it be cool if…” 🤣

Our four-legged officers give so much to our community, and now it’s our turn to give a little back.

Following K9 Kilo’s recent injury and surgery, the Friends of the Kinston Police Department has established a GoFundMe to help support Kilo’s recovery and the continued needs of the Kinston Police Department’s K9 Program.

Funds raised will help with veterinary care, medical expenses, training, equipment, and other needs of the K9 program.

We know times are tough for many families, and we understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. Whether you give $5, $50, or simply share this post, your support means a lot.

These dogs spend their lives serving our community. Let’s show them how much our community cares.

Thank you for supporting Kilo and all of our KPD K9s!

We’re planning a gala, which means we’re about to find out how many police officers actually own clothes that aren’t uniforms or camouflage.

March 5, 2027. Y’all mark your calendars. This should be entertaining!
