The commissioning of the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36 was a historic moment for our our town.

The Kingsville community welcomed the ship and her crew with true South Texas hospitality.

We would like to thank all of the generous donors and those who worked to make the events a huge success.

We wish the USS Kingsville fair winds and following seas as they protect our country.

The Chairman's Gala celebrating the commissioning of the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36 was held aboard the USS Lexington Museum.

The gala was a night to remember that included the presentation of gifts to the ship and her crew. The event concluded with a fireworks display from the deck of the historic aircraft carrier.

The USS Kingsville Commissioning Committee hosted a luncheon honoring the ship's sponsor, Kathy Kline. The Committee presented her with the official sponsor's gift, a custom bracelet, to commemorate the occasion.

The King Ranch hosted the crew and families of the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36 for a picnic.

The crew was treated to a fantastic lunch of carne guisada, rice, beans and pan de campo.

After the lunch, the group was taken on a tour of the King Ranch, received a roping demonstration and a lesson on ranching in south Texas.

The crew of the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36 were welcomed to the Coastal Bend with a spread of delicious south Texas food, mariachis and gifts!

The crew particularly enjoyed the cowboy hats!

The USS Kingsville will travel through the Panama Canal tomorrow, September 11th, on her way to her home port in San Diego.
