Our Story
The DIVA Association of Kingsville Inc., is an organization that assists young people to succeed both academically and in their personal lives. We have awarded over 150 $500 scholarships to area students. Each year we award several $500 scholarships to deserving students who wish to attend colleges, universities, community colleges, training centers, university s or enroll in certification programs. Our members also assist in mentoring and tutoring young people, as well, as participating in charitable community endeavors. We encourage our youth to lead a healthy lifestyle free of drugs and alcohol. Today we have a membership of about 25 men, women and students. Our Mission Statement: “To assist in educating, encouraging and enlightening the youth of our community by enhancing their lives to become more confident in themselves; therefore, setting the tone of their future in being an example to others by displaying faith in God.” The Ms. D.I.V.A. Scholarship Pageant, is held each June on the campus of Texas A&M University Kingsville. Women and Men 18 and over are encouraged to participate in the Ms. Diva and Mr. Devo category while Jr. Ms. Diva and Jr Mr. Devo contestants are ages from 12 to 17. Sponsors are welcome to assist in the contestants’ fund raising efforts. Donations are also accepted throughout the year. Please invest in our youths’ future and assist with the DIVA’ S educational scholarship efforts through financial support. The DIVA Association is a non-profit, tax exempt entity and has a 501 (c) 3 corporate IRS status. Please make checks payable to the DIVA Association of Kingsville Inc. and can be mailed to Rev.
