In the fall we received a generous donation from a local knitting club. 🧶 Well, they’re at it again! They raffled off this beautiful basket and sweet handmade stuffie, and chose to give 100 percent of the profits — totalling $205 — to End 68 Hours of Hunger! Thank you so much, New England Knitters!

The Sanborn Regional School District has partnered with End 68 Hours of Hunger for 12 years this month! Over that time, countless volunteers have stepped up to fill the gaps and fight childhood food insecurity. Thank you to our Sanborn community for the long term support and dedication to this important mission. 💜

Our grocery bags this weekend are little more robust than usual as we head into spring break and a double weekend! We are grateful to a wonderful donor for purchasing these sturdy reusable bags so our students can easily carry all of this home!

Sanborn’s End 68 Hours of Hunger program would like to thank the National Junior Honor Society for hosting a successful food drive! All together, the middle school brought in 509 donations to stock our pantry. Congrats to grade 7 who contributed the most and earned themselves popsicles!

The donation totes in each classroom across the middle school have been steadily filling up over the course of this week’s food drive! Seventh grade was in the lead as of this morning. Tomorrow is the last day to bring in donations so if you have a middle schooler, be sure to remind them!

Our Sanborn drama students will be taking the stage this evening to perform the beloved musical Les Misérables. Before tonight’s show, join us for “One Bowl More” from 4:30-6pm at Sanborn Regional High School and enjoy a bowl of homemade soup for $5.

It truly takes a village ⭐ Every weekend, thousands of children rely on End 68 Hours of Hunger to help fill the gap between Friday’s school lunch and Monday’s breakfast. And behind every bag of food is a community that makes it happen—volunteers who shop and pack, donors who give generously, and school staff who ensure bags reach the children who need them most.

This work doesn’t happen because of one person—it happens because all of us come together. And because of that, children in our communities don’t have to face the weekend hungry.
