One week from today, Annie Dwyer is hosting Marketing Made Manageable — and we cannot wait.

Annie works with small business owners every single day through the Mid-Hudson/Catskills Small Business Development Center. She knows firsthand what it looks like to be building something real while trying to keep up with everything else life is asking of you.

This session is not theory. It is practical, honest, and built for business owners who need marketing to actually work for them — not add more pressure.

Here is what you will take away:
✔ How to simplify your strategy so it is actually sustainable
✔ How to use storytelling to connect with your audience in a way that feels natural
✔ How to bring AI into your process as a tool that saves time, not creates confusion

Free for all HVWiB Members. Open to everyone.

You are a result of the people you surround yourself with.

That is one of the most underrated benefits of being in a community like this one. It is not always the event or the resource or the spotlight that moves things. Sometimes it is just the steady presence of people who are doing the work alongside you.

💬 Who in this community has inspired you lately — in a comment, a post, or a conversation? Give them a shoutout below. We love seeing this community lift each other up.

Take 15 minutes to make sure the basics are current everywhere someone might find you.

Check these four things:

🌐 Your website — is the copy still accurate? Does your bio reflect who you are now?
📍 Google Business Profile — current hours, recent photos, any unanswered reviews?
💼 LinkedIn — does your headline clearly say what you do and who you help?
📋 HVWiB Member Directory — is your listing updated with your current info?

This is not glamorous work. But it builds trust. And trust is often what turns a search into a conversation and a conversation into a client.

It takes less time than you think. Start with one today.

💬 Which of these is most overdue for you? Drop a comment and hold yourself accountable.

One thing I’ve noticed about being part of a strong community is that the kind of support you need changes depending on the season you’re in.

Sometimes you need more visibility.
Sometimes you need actual strategy conversations.
And sometimes you just need to be around women who get it without you having to explain everything.

That’s one of the things invested membership gives you access to all year long.

From Lunch & Learns and quarterly Strategy Circles… to directory listings, spotlights, and everyday community support — there are different ways to plug in depending on what you need most right now.

And honestly, that matters especially during the slower or harder seasons of business.

No one is meant to build alone.

💬 Heading into summer, what kind of support would help you most right now?

The strongest follow-up usually feels more like a relationship than a strategy.

A thoughtful check-in or simply a note that says I remembered our conversation.

This kind of follow-up builds trust over time. And trust is often what creates the next opportunity.

A few simple ways to follow up that never feel forced:
→ Send a resource you genuinely think would help them
→ Tag them in something relevant in the group
→ Invite them to an upcoming event
→ Just reach out to say hello and actually mean it

It's time to get into the habit of paying attention to the people you have already met.

💬 What is one simple way you follow up after meeting someone new? Share it below.

Visibility does not take a summer vacation.

One of the most common mistakes business owners make this time of year is pulling back on content because it feels like no one is paying attention.

But someone is always paying attention. And the women who stay visible through June and July are the ones with a full pipeline when September arrives.

You do not need to post more. You need to post smarter.

Three content ideas that work well in summer:

→ Behind the scenes of how you work in a slower season
→ A resource or tip that helps your audience with a summer-specific challenge
→ A genuine check-in that starts a real conversation

None of these require a production budget. Just honesty and consistency.

💬 What is one piece of content you have been meaning to create but keep putting off? Drop it below and let's help each other get unstuck.

For a lot of business owners, summer brings a slower pace. The calendar gets lighter, and the internal pressure to stay on top of everything gets heavier.

Here is a reframe for you this week:
→ Summer is not a gap in your business. It is a season.
→ Seasons have rhythms. Some are for planting, while some are for resting so you can grow again.

The question is not how do I maintain momentum through summer? It is what does a sustainable, intentional summer actually look like for my business?

Consider this → What can I put on autopilot?

Then share that in the comments! I bet you'll be supporting other women with similar struggles.
