In collaboration with Alexandria Police Youth Camp @ www.AlexPYC.org We provide scholarship assistance so any child wishing to attend Camp Kekoka may do so.

Camp Kekoka is a fun, educational and engaging program that fosters the spiritual, physical and emotional well-being of our campers. Aligned with the Alexandria, VA Police Department, we provide a shore-side camping experience to inner city kids.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the people who make our Y stronger.

Joanna, a member of the Luter Family YMCA staff, has roots in Mexico and Puerto Rico. She's passing traditions on to her son, from celebrating Christmas on December 24 to sharing the food, language, and culture she grew up with.

Joanna loves meeting people from all backgrounds at the Y and hearing their stories. Please join us in celebrating Joanna during Hispanic Heritage Month.

What a fun and successful morning! So much can be accomplished when 17 students show up ready to volunteer.
We learned about the history of Camp Kekoka and the mission of the YMCA while giving back through service. The group cleaned, moved furniture, power washed, and even squeezed in a hike to the challenge course.
A huge thank you to these future leaders for their hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to serve. The future is bright!

At the Y, we prevent drowning, and our lifeguards are at the heart of that mission. Today is International Lifeguard Appreciation Day, and we want to spotlight this incredible team. They stay focused, train regularly, and are always ready to act when it matters most.

They also take the time to connect with our members and create a safe, welcoming space for everyone.
