YMCA / APYC Camp Kekoka In collaboration with Alexandria Police Youth Camp @ www.AlexPYC.org We provide scholarship assistance so any child wishing to attend Camp Kekoka may do so.

Camp Kekoka is a fun, educational and engaging program that fosters the spiritual, physical and emotional well-being of our campers. Aligned with the Alexandria, VA Police Department, we provide a shore-side camping experience to inner city kids.

Spirit Week 6 – Camp Kekoka Wrap-Up

What an amazing way to close out our final week of camp for the season! Spirit Week 6 took campers on a holiday adventure, with a different holiday celebrated each day. The excitement, creativity, and laughter made for a memorable end to a fantastic summer.

🎉 New Year's Day kicked off the week with celebrations, fresh beginnings, and lots of excitement.

🍀 St. Patrick's Day brought plenty of green, lucky fun, and festive spirit.

🐰 Easter Day was filled with spring-themed activities, creativity, and smiles.

🎃 Halloween Day delivered spooky fun, imaginative costumes, and lots of laughter.

🎄 Christmas Day wrapped up the week with holiday cheer, festive activities, and joyful memories shared among friends.

Adding to the excitement, there were even reports around camp that the Tooth Fairy may have paid a special visit! Campers enjoyed the mystery and fun as stories spread throughout the week.

As we close out the camp season, we want to thank all of our campers, families, and staff for making this summer so special. The friendships formed, memories made, and experiences shared have made Camp Kekoka an incredible place to learn, grow, and have fun.

Here's to a wonderful summer, an unforgettable Spirit Week, and a successful close to another amazing camp season. We hope everyone has a fantastic school year ahead, and we can't wait to see you again next summer! 🏕️☀️❤️🎉

Camp Kekoka Week 5 Wrap-Up: Splashtopia! 💦🌊

What an incredible week at Camp Kekoka! Week 5, Splashtopia, brought nonstop fun, laughter, and plenty of water-filled adventures.

Mother Nature joined in on the fun with plenty of rain, creating the perfect conditions for campers to turn the grounds into their very own "human water slides"! Sliding across the wet grass quickly became a favorite activity, with campers laughing and cheering as they raced across the slippery terrain.

Our campers also enjoyed exciting canoe barge adventures, working together on the water, building teamwork skills, and making unforgettable memories with friends. Whether paddling, balancing, or simply enjoying the ride, the river was full of smiles all week long.

When it was time to dry off, campers gathered for friendly competition during various board games challenges.

The fun continued into the evenings with energetic dance parties, where campers showed off their best moves, sang along to favorite songs, and celebrated another fantastic summer week together.

Of course, no Splashtopia week would be complete without a giant water slide!

Week 5 was filled with adventure, friendship, teamwork, and lots and lots of water. Thank you to our amazing campers and staff for making Splashtopia a splash-tastic success. We can't wait to see what next week brings! ☀️💙🏕️💦

⚡🪄 Camp Kekoka Resident Camp – Week 4 Wrap-Up 🪄⚡

Mischief Managed!

What an enchanting week at Camp Kekoka! Our campers stepped into the wizarding world of Harry Potter, where every day was filled with magic, adventure, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

From being sorted into houses and competing for house points to mastering magical challenges, creating spellbinding crafts, and embarking on exciting quests around camp, our young witches and wizards fully embraced the magic. The spirit of teamwork, courage, kindness, and fun was on display throughout the week.

We watched campers build new friendships, try new things, and create memories that will last long after the final spell was cast. Whether they were seeking the Golden Snitch, mixing up potions, or showing their house pride, their enthusiasm made this week truly magical.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for bringing the wizarding world to life and to our camp families for sharing your amazing campers with us.

👽🛸 Week 3 Camp Kekoka Wrap-Up: Outer Space & Aliens! 🛸👽
What a wild week! Just when our campers thought they were learning about outer space, mysterious aliens seemed to appear all around Camp Kekoka! From alien encounters to cosmic adventures, imaginations were launched into another galaxy.
🌩️ And as if the aliens weren't enough, we also experienced some crazy weather that kept us on our toes! Whether indoors or out, our campers made the most of every moment with laughter, creativity, and plenty of space-themed fun.
🚀 Thanks to all of our astronauts for an unforgettable Week 3. We loved exploring the unknown with you and can't wait for our next adventure!

The party is still going strong at the Y, as we celebrate 130 years of serving our community.
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our core areas of focus: helping kids succeed. Through early learning and school age programs, mentorship and enrichment opportunities, and community outreach like Bright Beginnings, we’re working to give every child the support they need to reach their full potential.
For 130 years, families have counted on the Y to help children grow, learn, and thrive. We’re just getting started.

🌴🔥 Camp Kekoka Week 2: Survivor Week Wrap-Up! 🔥🌴
What an EPIC week at Camp Kekoka! Our campers embraced the spirit of Survivor Week, tackling exciting challenges, building teamwork skills, solving problems, and creating unforgettable memories along the way.
From adventurous competitions and team-building activities to new friendships and lots of laughter, our campers showed resilience, creativity, and determination all week long. We are so proud of every camper for stepping outside their comfort zones and giving their best effort!
🏆 Congratulations to all of our Survivor teams for their hard work and positive attitudes. Everyone went home a winner with new experiences and lasting memories.
