What if making music more accessible starts with the music itself?

The United Sound Composer Project is working to make new, diverse music more accessible to young musicians—while creating opportunities for emerging composers to have their work heard and performed.

We connect composers, educators, and students to make it easier for teachers to discover and program new music, and easier for young musicians to encounter a wider range of musical voices from the very beginning of their musical journey.

That’s how we build a more inclusive future for music.

Creekside Middle School, in Woodstock Illinois, is going on 6 years of United Sound. Their chapter is the largest it has ever been with 3 returning musicians, new musicians, and mentors.
This year’s mentors have proven impressive from the first day. They were immediately comfortable and jumped right in to help their new musicians.
United Sound is proud to have these Falcons in our family!💙

The notes matter. But so do the moments between them.

A student helping a friend.
A first note becoming a song.
A musician discovering that their part belongs in the ensemble.

These are the moments that remind us why music education matters—and why every student deserves the opportunity to experience it.

Music has room for all of us. ❤️

Year round we raise money for student scholarships, and every contribution -big or small- makes a huge difference. Give the gift of music on international day of charity.

Even though the rain had other plans, the spirit of music and community never missed a beat! ☔️🎶💙
United Sound musicians of Arizona, alongside members of The Academy and Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, made the most of an unforgettable day at Drums Across the Desert. We were also honored to spend time with Kevin LeBoeuf, the Bluecoats Music Designer and Brass Caption Head, who arranged the music our musicians had prepared to perform that evening. Scroll to the last slide to hear their piece!
