For many students, summer break can feel isolating or overwhelming.
The adults, mentors, coworkers, coaches, friends, and family members around students have more influence than they may realize.
Here are a few ways you can support a student this summer: 👇
1. Send a quick text once a week. A simple ‘thinking about you’ can mean more than you realize.
2. Plan one thing they can count on: coffee, lunch, a walk, or even a phone call.
3. Give specific encouragement. Instead of "I’m proud of you," try "I noticed how hard you’ve been working."
4. Let them know they have a safe space. Sometimes students just need somewhere to breathe.
5. Show up when it matters. Go to their game, event, recital, or workplace if you can.
Be the reason a student feels seen, supported, and less alone this summer.
