🌺SHOUTOUT SATURDAY 🎉💗

Mahalo to Rene Mansho and the Hawaii Lions Club for their incredible kokua! 🦁 Your commitment to supporting keiki and ʻohana across Hawaii means everything to us. Every diaper collected, every family helped—that’s the power of our community working together. We see you. We celebrate you.

And while we’re talking about caring for our community and our ʻāina—big mahalo to the Going Green Recycling Drives! If you’re looking to give responsibly this season, here’s how you can help:

♻️ E-waste drop-off is for residents only (businesses & schools can schedule separate pick-ups)
♻️ All other household items welcome from both residents & businesses
♻️ Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

For event dates and a full list of acceptable items, visit the Going Green page.

Because supporting our keiki goes hand-in-hand with supporting our islands. 🌺

🌺Diaper insecurity isn’t just a mainland problem. New data from the Urban Institute and the National Diaper Bank Network’s Mapping Diaper Insecurity report shows exactly how many keiki right here in Hawaiʻi are living in households that struggle to afford diapers.

Swipe to see the numbers across our islands. 👉

🌺 Oahu: 18,300 keiki ages 3 & under
🌺 Maui: 3,200 keiki ages 3 & under
🌺 Kauai: 1,400 keiki ages 3 & under

To close the diaper gap across all our islands, it would take 16.1 million diapers a year.

The Aloha Diaper Bank distributes 80,000–100,000 diapers every month across all four islands, through 78 partner agencies. We’re working every day to close that gap. ❤️

🌺 Closed Thursday, June 11 for King Kamehameha Day 🌺

We’re taking the day to honor Kamehameha the Great, who united the Hawaiian Islands.

His Kānāwai Māmalahoe — the Law of the Splintered Paddle — protected the most vulnerable among us. That’s the spirit behind everything we do.

It’s also personal for us. Our entire staff and leadership are Native Hawaiian — women, mothers, and grandmothers. And approximately 43% of the families we serve are Native Hawaiian ʻohana facing diaper need.

We’ll be back Friday, continuing the work of caring for our keiki and community. 🤙

E ola mau ka hoʻoilina o Kamehameha.

🌺This Mahalo Monday, we’re celebrating someone who has been with us since the very beginning. 🌺

Jayme Ioane (in white) has been volunteering with the Aloha Diaper Bank since 2019 — and she hasn’t slowed down once. Every weekend, she shows up to help families access the diapers they need. She’s our weekend warrior, our extra set of hands, and honestly, one of our biggest hearts.

This past Friday, Jayme also stepped in to support us at the Safe Sleep Hawaii conference — because that’s just who she is. Wherever we need her, she’s there.

And here she is doing what she does best — receiving a generous diaper donation from the amazing . ❤️

Jayme, you embody the true spirit of aloha. Mahalo nui loa. 🌸

🌺We had the best time at the Safe Sleep Hawaiʻi Conference today! 😊

So grateful to be in the room with advocates, providers, and partners who share the same mission — keeping our keiki safe and families supported.

We brought our own resource to share with attendees — highlighting the connection between diaper insecurity and safe sleep. Because when families are rationing diapers, babies are uncomfortable, caregivers are exhausted, and following the ABCs of safe sleep becomes so much harder. It’s a connection not everyone knows about, and we love being able to spark that conversation.

A special shoutout to Sunny from HMHB — always so wonderful to connect with you! 💕

And always love seeing our girl Sam from SDC Strategies — so great to catch up! 🌺

No keiki should lose sleep over a diaper. 😴🌺
