Dear Community Members and Visitors,
Each year, the members of VFW Post #8684 proudly place American flags throughout our community to honor our nation, recognize the sacrifices of our veterans, and celebrate patriotic holidays. It is one small way we give back to the community that has supported us for so many years.
VFW Post #8684 is a nonprofit organization made up of combat veterans and their families. Everything we do—from community programs to patriotic displays—is made possible through fundraisers, donations, and the dedication of volunteers who generously give their time. We do not receive unlimited funding, and every flag represents an investment made through the hard work and generosity of our members and supporters.
Unfortunately, we have experienced people taking these flags. While a single flag may seem insignificant, each one that is stolen must be replaced using funds that could otherwise support our veterans, their families, and future community projects.
We respectfully ask everyone in our community and those visiting our area to help us preserve these displays. Please leave the flags where they have been placed so everyone can enjoy them throughout the holiday. If you see someone removing or stealing a flag, we encourage you to speak up if it is safe to do so or report the incident to local authorities.
These flags are more than decorations. They are symbols of service, sacrifice, freedom, and respect. They represent the men and women who have served our country and the community spirit that brings us together.
We appreciate the overwhelming support we receive from our neighbors and friends. With your help, we can continue this tradition for years to come.
Thank you for respecting our flags, supporting our veterans, and helping keep our community a place we can all be proud to call home.
Sincerely,
VFW Post #8684
