Last weekend I attended a ribbon cutting for a new bus shelter in the neighborhood. Thanks to all parties involved and community members for fighting to get this done took many years but got it done. Followed by a neighborhood clean up my kids and I joined Joliet Fire Department picking up trash in the Upper Bluffs area. My son found a coin so that was his reward and a donut 😆. Joliet Police Department did a great job keeping everyone safe patrolling the streets as many community members picked up trash in the area. 🥰🥰 we absolutely love having Sgt. Andrew Jose' and the Joliet Public Safety Cadets #220 come partner and hang out with us at our bi-annual neighborhood cleanup. Sgt. Jose has been amazing supporter of our neighborhood cleanups and have participated over the years. Thank you for all you support and help!

We told you there'd be more photos from our sweet ribbon cutting of our very much needed bus shelter in the 300 block of Western.

Now we know normally a bus a shelter doesn't get this much attention, but maybe they should. Ensuring small things like bus shelters are available to residents is making sure everyone has the same advantages. As the Executive Director of Pace stated at the ribbon cutting "you can tell how much this bus shelter was needed but the amount of support here today.... " A big thank you to Beth and Melinda from Pace for being there and sharing our celebration with us.

Here's a sneak peak at our awesome ribbon cutting for our new Pace Bus shelter on Western Ave. A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard over the last 7 years and never gave up on ensuring our residents had what they were requesting and needed! We even had the executive director of Pace Melinda J. Metzger in attendance to help celebrate the occasion!

What an awesome September monthly meeting last Thursday with our neighbors! A huge thank you to our guest speaker Walter Dean from Popus Gourmet Popcorn and African American Business Association of Will County, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church for being our host site, JPD for having out N.O.P.T. team there to connect with residents, Jeff Wallace from Joliet Township Government to share info residents can use, Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra engaged with residents and listened to issues, shared our celebrations and gave input on projects and of course Elizabeth Protich from Holsten Human Capital Development NFP who shared about our neighborhood community center and the events thay they offer along with the upcoming Turnk-or-Treat on October 29th. We can't wait to see everyone and their bright smiles for our Annual Bicentennial Bluffs Fall Neighborhood Cleanup & Community Meeting #5 coming up on Saturday, October 3rd!!!
