IDOT Announces Overnight Lane Closures on I-80
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that as part of ongoing efforts to rebuild Interstate 80 from Ridge Road, in Minooka, to U.S. 30, in Joliet and New Lenox, overnight lane closures, accompanied by 15-minute full traffic stops, are scheduled to take place, weather permitting, Saturday, Oct. 24. The closures are necessary to safely install large overhead signs over the interstate.

Starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, eastbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane between Houbolt Road and Wheeler Avenue. At the same time, westbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane from Richards Street to Larkin Avenue (Illinois 7). Between 1 and 7 a.m., full stops for no longer than 15 minutes at a time will take place, alternating between the eastbound and westbound lanes. All lanes temporarily closed overnight will reopen by noon Sunday.

As the I-80 reconstruction continues, the public should continue to expect lane shifts, overnight lane closures and significant delays and allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

Congratulations to Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet

This afternoon, the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry had the pleasure of celebrating the Grand Opening of the new space for Saint Joseph Medical Center’s Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit with a Ceremonious Ribbon Cutting!

Today’s celebration also marked an incredible milestone—40 years of service from the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, providing care and support to patients and families throughout our community.

Congratulations to the entire Saint Joseph Medical Center team on this exciting new chapter and 40 years of dedicated service to the Joliet region!
