At Bridges Cooperative Ministry (BCM)—formerly United Methodist Human Services—we are committed to cultivating God’s Kingdom by serving as a transformational resource center for individuals and families overcoming poverty and daily instability. Located in the heart of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, BCM is a ministry of HOPE and HEALING that walks alongside those in need, offering support, dignity, and o
pportunity. BRIDGES TO SUCCESS
Our cornerstone program provides lifelong access to essential resources for individuals striving to break free from poverty. Rooted in the Bridges Out of Poverty framework, participants identify barriers and develop personalized strategies for stability and self-sufficiency through the Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World curriculum. Employment-based poverty reduction is the primary pathway to transformation. FRANKLIN STREET FOOD PANTRY
Serving approximately 300 food-insecure individuals each month, our pantry provides a three- to five-day emergency food supply, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. PROJECT SHOES
Every child deserves well-fitting, seasonally appropriate footwear. Partnering with over 50 schools, ministries, and agencies across six counties, this program equips more than 600 under-resourced youth each school year—and the need continues to grow! DIRECT AID
For individuals facing crises related to homelessness or transitional care, we offer immediate, one-time assistance, including:
~Personal hygiene kits
~Baby care necessities
~Emergency food
~Guidance in navigating local human services
At BCM, relationships come first. More than just providing resources, our dedicated staff and volunteers invest in genuine connections that create lasting change—one life, one family, and one step at a time.
