Meet Chad. Chad has been here for about 1 year now after he came in last year very sick and emaciated. He struggled with putting on weight and spent a good amount of time at the RI Wildlife Clinic getting healthy under their expert veterinarian's care. He has been thriving now for months and says it is time for a home!
Chad is a dignified pigeon with a no-nonsense attitude and a quiet, watchful soul. He prefers to observe the world rather than participate in it, keeping a careful eye on everything from the comfort and safety of his cage. If there’s activity happening around him, you can be sure Chad is taking mental notes - calmly, silently, and with just a hint of judgment.
His favorite place is his trusty log perch, where he’s perfectly content to spend the day sitting, thinking, and surveying his surroundings. Chad isn’t one for chaos or sudden changes; he thrives in a peaceful environment with a predictable routine.
Chad is hand-shy and reserved, and he’s not the type to seek out affection right away. However, with patience, consistency, and respect for his boundaries, he has the potential to learn to trust one dedicated person. His trust is something earned, not given, and for the right adopter, that makes it all the more special.
Chad would do best in a calm home with someone who appreciates quiet companionship and understands that not all bonds are loud or cuddly. If you’re willing to move at Chad’s pace and value a thoughtful, observant companion, he may just be the pigeon for you.
