Our little Dot Dot coming home from the vet (very high😅) following her repeat chest X-rays. While a lot of progress has been made, the Dr still reports that one of her lobes is abnormal. We are unsure whether that’s fluid, inflammation, or maybe scarring, but we are treating with another round of antibiotics to be safe!

Mary May ( ) is safe from OCAS because a foster decided her life was worth saving. ❤️

This sweet girl was found as a stray, another dog who appears to have been overbred and then dumped, only to find herself on the euthanasia list at a county shelter.

So many dogs face the same fate, and not all are lucky enough to get a second chance.

Fostering truly saves lives.

MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED FOR CESAR! 🚨

We pulled Cesar from PBCACC after being he was found as a stray, likely hit by a car. He has multiple fractures in his leg/hip area that may require surgery.

We went to the ortho this past week to discuss surgical and non-surgical options. We trialed a non-surgical option, but since he was struggling without pain medication, we’re going to have to revisit to determine the best next steps. There are surgical risks to his nerves that the dr wanted to avoid if possible. In the meantime, we’re looking for a foster home where Cesar can safely recover if surgery does end up being required.

Fostering is completely free! We provide all supplies, cover medical expenses, and support you throughout the process.

About Cesar:
🩵Approximately 3-year-old shepherd/husky mix
🩵Good with dogs
🩵Gets along with the cat in his current placement
🩵Housebroken and well-behaved, loves to be around his people
🩵Has some separation anxiety and needs help with crate training

We have quite a few dogs undergoing heartworm treatment, Coffee Bean being one of them. Luckily, PBCACC is sponsoring the cost of his medication, which is a huge help for us.

He is doing so well in foster and even got a little bit of pool time, which he LOVED. Fostering SAVES LIVES, and we are so grateful to everyone that opens their heart and home to a dog in need.

Coffee Bean is a part of the Life with Reef’s Operation Homeward Bound Last Chance Dog Project.

We are no longer accepting owner surrenders at this time.

There are simply too many stray and euth-risk dogs who need those limited rescue spots.

And for the love of God, keep your dog. Make it work. Try harder. Train them. Exercise them. Get up 30 minutes earlier to walk them. Especially if you CHOSE to get a working breed and are now overwhelmed by their energy.

Obviously, there are legitimate emergencies where keeping a dog truly isn’t possible. This isn’t about those.

Your dog is a commitment, not something to give up when they become inconvenient.

Don’t let a dog sitting on a euth list lose their chance because you gave up on yours.

We are drowning and dogs are dying. Do better.

It’s time for another flea/tick and heartworm prevention order! Which gets super pricey when we have between 12-20 dogs in our care…😅

The total comes to $716 for the next 4-6 months. While pricey, prevention is so important to ensure our dogs stay healthy while they await adoption in foster.

We would be so appreciative if we could raise some funds to cover this!🫶🏼

Betty is STILL available for adoption! Here are some things about our senior princess:

🩶 Est. 10 years old and 20 lbs
🩶 SO very sweet and loves to snuggle!
🩶 Good with dogs and respectful cats
🩶 Housebroken and crate-trained
🩶 Super well-behaved!

She’s such an awesome little gal. She was supposed to be spayed last month, but went into heat. The vet rescheduled it for a few weeks from now. Aside from that, she is UTD on everything and healthy!
