Hi, I’m Frost and I’ve been looking for a family for a few months now. I was saved from a bad home where me and my sisters were neglected, but that doesn’t stop me from loving people so very much!

I’m almost 2 years old, very playful, adventurous, and I’m good with male dogs and most cats! I love to go to the beach, chase after my ball, and I even like to go into the water to swim. Plus, I’ve been told I’m good at cuddles.

I’m housebroken, crate-trained, up-to-date on shots, and spayed! So really, I’m the whole package! I’m medium-large sized at 55lbs, which means I’m 55lbs of love and snuggles!

Violet Pupdate!💜 Back in April, we received an urgent plea to save an injured puppy from the euthanasia list at OCAS. Because an amazing foster stepped up, we were able to say yes.

Violet had recently suffered severe injuries, believed to have been hit by a car, and had multiple broken bones. During her first few days in foster care, she made two emergency trips to VEG. The first was to evaluate free fluid in her abdomen caused by her injuries, and the second was when she developed a high fever and needed antibiotics immediately.

Once she was stable, her foster family drove two hours to our orthopedic partner for a consultation. Thankfully, surgery wasn’t necessary because her pelvis and other injuries had already begun healing on their own.

After completing her recovery, Violet was cleared for her spay, officially adopted by her foster family, and has never looked back.

The first photo is Violet today, fresh inside after digging holes in the yard with her doggy siblings.❤️

Because a foster said yes, because donors gave, and because of the support of our veterinary partners, Violet got the second chance she deserved.

There is truly nothing better than seeing our adopted dogs happy and thriving.

Another emergency vet visit today brought our balance at Port Salerno Animal Hospital to nearly $4,500.

With 21 dogs currently in our care and about 2/3 of them receiving veterinary treatment there, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but seeing that number is still overwhelming.

Thanks to our recent raffle and the generosity of our supporters, we were able to pay $1,000 toward the bill today. Even so, we still owe $3,474… and that doesn’t include multiple upcoming appointments, spay/neuter surgeries, and other medical needs already on the calendar.

Because of this, our intake is closed, and we’ve already had to say no to helping 6 dogs this week. And it’s only Monday… One is about to give birth on the streets of Miami. Others are facing euthanasia in shelters.

To be frank, having to say no sucks, but we cannot continue taking on more dogs while our current veterinary bills continue to grow. Right now, our funds are depleted, and until we catch up, our ability to help is limited.

Little boy Butters is still available for adoption!🧈 This 6 month old boy is a little sassy around new people, but his cuteness makes up for it. He is a pittie/chihuahua mix so it’s safe to say that he took after his chi mix when it comes to new intros.

Although shy at first, once he warms up, he is an amazing and beyond snuggly boy. Here are some other things about him:

✨ Neutered, healthy, will be UTD on shots after 1 more round
✨ Housebroken and crate-trained
✨ Dog & cat-friendly
✨ 20lbs, likely to not exceed 30lbs full-grown
✨ Due to standoffish nature at first, no kids
✨ Total lap dog

Little Maple has officially completed her heartworm treatment and is now just waiting for clearance for her spay! Once she’s spayed, her foster family plans to make it official and adopt her. ❤️

Maple was found as a stray about six months ago. The person who found her wasn’t having any luck finding a rescue to take her in, so they began her heartworm treatment themselves while continuing to search for help. When they reached out to us, a foster family stepped up and said “yes”, and because of that, Maple got her second chance.

Fostering truly saves lives. Sometimes it even leads to finding your own furever best friend.

Fostering is completely free, and we provide all necessary supplies and veterinary care. We work hard to match each foster family with a dog that fits their household, lifestyle, and experience level.
