💙 WALK WITH US — LOUISVILLE OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK

On Saturday, November 7, Survivors of Su***de of Kentuckiana invites you to join the Louisville Out of the Darkness Walk at Waterfront Park.

This is a day to remember those we've lost to su***de, support those who are struggling, and bring our community together around hope, healing, and su***de prevention.

Whether you walk in memory of someone you love, in support of a friend or family member, for your own journey, or simply because you believe in helping save lives, you are welcome.

Invite your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to walk alongside you. You can register individually or create a team.

🎤 Opening ceremony at 11:00 a.m., followed by the walk

We have some wonderful things planned this year, and here are a few ways you can prepare!
🪑 Bring Your Favorite Chair!
Bring a lawn chair, get comfortable, and enjoy some great live music! We want you to spend time connecting with others, enjoying the atmosphere, and taking in everything this special day has to offer.
☕ Coffee, Anyone?
We’ll have coffee trucks on-site! Grab your favorite morning drink and enjoy the morning with your walk family.
💐 Create Your Own Flower Bouquet – NEW This Year!
We’re excited to offer something special this year! You’ll have the opportunity to pick and design your very own flower bouquet to take home.
Bouquets are $25 each.
$5 from every bouquet goes back to supporting our walk!
It’s a beautiful way to take a little hope home with you!
🦋 Create a Memorial Tile
Start looking for a special 4x4 photo of your loved one or a meaningful saying that you’d like to use to create a memorial tile.
This is an opportunity to remember, honor, and celebrate someone special. We hope these tiles will serve as a meaningful reminder that the love we carry never fades.
👟 Invite Someone to Walk With You!
There’s still time to invite friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to join us!
Invite someone to register and walk alongside you.
Create a team or encourage others to join your existing team.
Share your personal reason for walking.
Set a fundraising goal and ask others to support you!

Whenever You're Ready

Sometimes, taking the first step is the hardest part.

You may wonder what a support group is like, whether you'll feel comfortable, or whether talking with others will help. Those are understandable questions.

At Survivors of Su***de of Kentuckiana, you'll find people who know what it means to lose someone to su***de. Everyone has their own story, and everyone is welcome. You can talk, listen, or simply take things in at your own pace.

We meet Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 330 Hubbards Lane, Louisville.

If you've been thinking about joining us, consider this a gentle invitation. There's no need to wait until you have the right words or feel completely ready.

We'd be glad to welcome you.

It's Okay to Just Listen

Not everyone is ready to talk about their loss. And that's okay.

Sometimes, just being in a room with people who understand can make a difference. You can listen, share if you wish, or simply be present. There is no pressure to tell your story before you're ready.

Survivors of Su***de of Kentuckiana welcomes anyone who has lost someone to su***de.

We meet every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 330 Hubbards Lane, Louisville.

If you've been looking for a place where you don't have to explain everything, we'd like you to know that you're welcome here.

Losing someone to su***de can leave us with feelings and questions that are difficult to share with others. Sometimes, it helps just to be around people who understand.

Survivors of Su***de of Kentuckiana offers a place to talk, listen, share, or simply sit with others who have experienced a similar loss. There is no expectation to speak, and no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable sharing.

We meet every Thursday (except the fifth one on those months that have five) at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 330 Hubbards Lane, Louisville.

If you have lost someone to su***de, you are welcome here. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, there is a place for you.

You don't have to know what to say. You just have to come as you are.

International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day provides an opportunity for people who have lost someone to su***de to come together with others who understand the unique experience of su***de loss.

The November 21 Louisville event will focus on:

• Connection with others who have experienced su***de loss
• Remembrance of the person or people we have lost
• Hope and healing through shared experience
