As the July 4th American 250 weekend winds down, thanks so very much to all of you who endured the heat and humidity and made our Clark County Indiana Museum reading of the Declaration of Independence at Warder Park a historic event. From our 76 readers to the team who worked behind the scenes to keep all together, it was an unforgettable experience bringing together such an amazing group of readers and friends. Several people mentioned it felt sort of magical and they were even moved to the point of tears! Our copy of the Declaration of Independence so many of you signed to commemorate the occasion will continue to be available for signatures at the museum through the rest of 2026 and then archived in the museum as a historic artifact. So, stop by the museum anytime if you want to add your name to history. And please post up your own photos in the comments.

We're getting excited for our post-July 4 parade "We the People" event where 76 of us (think 1776!) are going to each read a line from the the Declaration of Independence! We'll be posting some notes as the time grows closer. So here goes!
1. If you signed up online you should have received a confirmation and instructions for Saturday. If you signed up another way or we otherwise didn't reach you with this information, please post up here and we will be sure to get it to you.
2. Yes! We still have just a few more slots for readers. Many people have asked us if it is possible to be in the parade and still be a reader. Absolutely! Many are already doing that. If you're interested in reading, online registration is still live on the Clark County Indiana Museum website or page so check it out.
3. How will we help keep you comfortable in the hot weather?! There will be shade trees, fans, cool water, chairs if you want, and the fun of being with a lot of cool people doing something amazing!

More Q&A later... please post up any questions.
