Some days, the weight feels heavy. Running a rescue, caring for animals with difficult pasts, and carrying the worries of tomorrow can be a lot.

Then I’m reminded that we were never meant to carry it all alone.

Just like the song says, we can run to the Father, fall into grace, and find peace in knowing He is always there.

Wishing you a blessed Sunday filled with faith, hope, and a little rest for your soul. ❤️🙏

Have a wonderful Sunday, friends.

101 Reasons We Love Our New Farm

#58 — The Dobby & Itty Bitty Room

As many of you know, Dobby and Itty Bitty have always come inside at night.

Not the barn. Not a shed. The farmhouse. 😆

Being wheelchair goats, they couldn’t safely stay outside with no way to defend themselves, so every evening they got VIP accommodations.

Back in Georgia, that meant rubber mats, indoor/outdoor rugs, and what felt like 47 layers of puppy pads. Every single day I was washing load after load after load. Between the laundry, the puppy pads, and the amount of Tide I was using, I probably should have bought stock in the company.

The dryer gave up about three months before the move and we had to buy a new one. Then the washer sounded like it was preparing for takeoff. I prayed it would survive long enough to get us to Kentucky, and thankfully it did!

Then we found this farm.

One of the rooms (right off the house, connected by the breezeway) has a concrete floor, and thanks to an anonymous supporter who purchased foam tiles from our wish list and an old indoor/outdoor rug I had tucked away, Dobby and Itty Bitty now have a room of their very own.

Instead of three loads of laundry a day, I’m down to just one. Cleanup is easier. The goats are comfortable and roll right in to their bedroom at the end of the day, and my new washing machine will not be used on an industrial grade level!!

In fact, when the Cowboy first looked at this farm, one of the first things he said was:

“It has an Itty Bitty and Dobby room!”

And honestly? He wasn’t wrong. ❤️🐐

It’s one of those things most people would never notice when looking at a farm. But for us, it was perfect.

Just one more reason we love our new farm.

📣 Follow Up Friday! 📣

If you missed anything this week, here’s your recap…

🐴 Hoof trimming day this week! We were so proud of Miss May! For the first time, she did NOT need sedation and stood beautifully for her trim. That is a huge milestone for this sweet rescue girl! ❤️

🐎 And of course, Little D was the perfect gentleman as always.

🐾 Since we’re talking about trimming… let’s talk dog nail trimming! Specifically, Great Pyrenees nail trimming. 😆

Our secret weapon? 🥜 Peanut butter and a spoon!

The Pyrs are convinced they are focused entirely on licking peanut butter while we’re over here clipping nails. How to outsmart very smart dogs! 😂

🇺🇸 We also had to dig out the 4th of July box and show off a little patriotic pride around the farm! Someone special knows where these beautiful wreaths came from!!! ❤️

🩷 I found an old indoor/outdoor rug for Itty Bitty and Dobby’s room. It’s soft on their feet, helps catch dirt and p**p, and makes the floor much less slick. Turns out Skin So Soft works great on flies but can make concrete a little slippery! And, thanks to auntie Erin, their fan she gave us is now up in their room as well!!

💨 We have also been digging for box fans for the horses. We found a couple of oldies but goodies, but I have updated our wish list with some new ones. These are much better and safer. Link is in the comments below.

🫏 And finally, we moved Mini Pearl and her little man, Archie, into the main alpaca pasture! I’ll tell you more about that adventure very soon. 😉

As always, thank you for following along with our crazy, wonderful rescue life and for cheering on these animals every step of the way. We truly couldn’t do this without our amazing Village.

We hope each and every one of you has a wonderful Friday, a peaceful weekend, and plenty of reasons to smile. ❤️

🥜 Guess what time it was???👀

If you know, you know. 😆

One jar of peanut butter = instant popularity around here. Who do you think is waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for a spoonful then questioning our motives???
