💰 Saving with a smile!

Part of our grant program teaches the women to save a portion of their earnings to reinvest in their businesses. During this week’s visit, Ana proudly showed our social worker her new savings plan… a piggy bank! 🐷💕

💧 Our Ecofiltros arrived at the DFM house today!

Soon, these filters will be in the homes of families who don’t have reliable access to safe drinking water—providing clean water every day. ❤️🇬🇹

One of our favorite parts of our Small Business Grant Program is seeing what happens after the grant. ❤️

During a recent home visit, our social worker checked in with Olivia, who received a DFM grant for her paper fiesta decoration business. We’re happy to share that her business is doing well!

But what Olivia was most proud to share was that she has saved enough money from her earnings to begin the expensive process of having water connected to her home. 💧

Right now, Olivia has to haul water from her neighbor’s house. Soon, because of her own hard work and determination, that could change.

This is what empowerment looks like—a hand up that keeps making a difference long after the grant is given. ❤️

WE LOVE A BUSINESS THAT GIVES BACK !

Sometimes meeting an immediate need comes before anything else. ❤️

When our social worker, Eugenia, visited our newest small business grant recipient and her family, she saw there was an immediate need for food.

Thanks to the generosity of Soak Spa of Amelia Island, we were able to provide groceries for her family while she begins the journey toward building a sustainable business and a more secure future.

Thank you, Soak Spa, for coming alongside DFM and this beautiful family!

Juana is continuing her business training this week —and this time, she has a couple of little helpers watching alongside her. 😀

Our social worker tells us that she is enjoying the training, gaining confidence, and getting more excited with every lesson. She can’t wait to put what she’s learning into practice.

When our social worker visited Juana this month, she found another reason to celebrate!

While waiting for her mama pig to become pregnant again, Juana wisely reinvested some of the profits from her first litter and purchased two female piglets and one male piglet to help grow her business.

We are so proud of Juana and the hard work, determination, and wisdom she continues to show.

Their smiles say everything!

Ana’s business grant came with some unique challenges. With very limited space and the possibility of having to move, she needed a small, portable chicken coop that could go with her if needed.

Her 21 year old son with special needs is also excited about helping with the business.

Hope changes more than circumstances—it changes hearts.❤️
