Through our Jackson Public Schools Mini Grants project, the Junior League of Jackson, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Mississippi, is proud to support the teachers and scholars of Jackson Public Schools! This year, the Mini Grant program awarded $99,370 in grants to support numerous initiatives that enrich teaching and learning across the JPS district. From helping elementary scholars strengthen their math skills through hands-on learning, to giving scholars the opportunity to develop communication and literacy skills through a student newsroom, and creating new ways for middle school scholars to build relationships and teamwork through e-sports, each project reflects a thoughtful approach to meeting scholars where they are.

Find the Good Day 2026 was a wonderful reminder that small acts of service can make a meaningful difference. Junior League of Jackson members donated more than 500 canned goods to Stewpot, volunteered alongside Stewpot’s team, and wrote more than 60 letters of encouragement to fellow League members. From serving our neighbors to encouraging one another, our members found meaningful ways to put service into action and make a difference in our community.

Meet Susanna Goodman, Treasurer-Elect for the 2026–2027 League year!

A member of the Junior League of Jackson for six years, Susanna loves the opportunity to meet women with different backgrounds and personalities who come together around a shared goal. Her favorite placement was serving as Project Evaluation Chair, where she got to hear firsthand about the passion and impact behind every JLJ project.

Born and raised in Jackson, Susanna loves the familiarity of the community and the joy of running into familiar faces wherever she goes. She is passionate about caring for and supporting the people closest to her.

Susanna describes what JLJ means to her in one word: community. We’re so glad to have her leadership and commitment as part of the 2026–2027 Board of Directors!

Meet LaKeysha Greer Isaac, Sustaining Advisor for the 2026–2027 League year!

LaKeysha is a United States Magistrate Judge and has been a member of the Junior League of Jackson for 16 years.

LaKeysha’s passion for encouraging women and girls to recognize their gifts, use their voices, and believe in what is possible is reflected in her own commitment to leadership and service. She especially values the women of JLJ and the opportunity to serve alongside women who care deeply about their community and one another.

For LaKeysha, JLJ has been transformational—a place where purpose, friendship, service, and growth continue to meet. We’re grateful for the leadership and heart she brings to our League community.

Meet Charlotte Seals, Sustaining Advisor for the 2026–2027 League year!

A retired superintendent and lifelong educator in the Madison County School District, Charlotte has been a member of the Junior League of Jackson since 2006.

Charlotte is passionate about strong public schools and the important role they play in building thriving communities. She is especially proud of JLJ’s strategic commitment to supporting Jackson Public Schools and other community partners based on our city’s needs. She also believes deeply in servant leadership and the power of developing women who lead through collaboration and service.

Charlotte loves Jackson’s unique ability to feel both connected and expansive, with a rich diversity of people, arts, and culture. We’re grateful for her loyal, giving, and dependable leadership and the lasting impact she continues to make through the League.

Meet Margaret Oertling Cupples, Sustaining Advisor for the 2026–2027 League year!

Margaret is the Managing Partner of the Jackson office of Bradley Law Firm and has been a member of the Junior League of Jackson since 2002. Over the years, she has served in several board roles, including Community VP, Fund Development VP, and Membership VP—experiences that deepened her understanding of the League’s impact, member development, and the work that makes it all possible.

A lifelong bookworm, Margaret is especially passionate about early literacy and the lasting impact of helping children discover the joy and value of reading.

When she’s not serving through the League, you can find Margaret enjoying all that her Belhaven neighborhood has to offer. We’re grateful for her leadership, commitment, and the community she continues to help build.

🌟 Happy Find the Good Day! 🌟

Today we celebrate a day dedicated to recognizing and uplifting the good in our communities. 💛

This year, the Junior League of Jackson is Finding the Good in our community by collecting canned goods for Stewpot Community Services.

We are also Finding the Good in our League by sharing positive, uplifting messages with our fellow JLJ members, reminding each other of the good we can do together.

We are Finding the Good in ourselves by focusing on the ways, both big and small, that we can build a lasting impact on our community.

A great start to our League year! ❤️

Our September General Membership Meeting gave members a chance to reconnect and enjoy time together as we kicked off a new League year. We celebrated the incredible work of our summer community project teams and got a look at what’s ahead with Mistletoe Marketplace® and Touch A Truck® Jackson.

We also heard from Dr. Mary Taylor, CEO of Children’s of Mississippi and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, and JLJ Sustainer Suzan Thames. Together, they shared the story of the Junior League of Jackson’s role in helping establish the Children’s Cancer Center and how that legacy continues to impact children and families today.

It was a meaningful reminder of what Building Lasting Impact looks like—honoring the work that came before us, celebrating the work happening today, and continuing to build for the future.

A special thank you to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School for hosting us!
