✍️ A great morning with the MFDA Board!

We had a productive meeting this morning at Ten One Strategy, with lots of good conversation, fresh ideas, and thoughtful discussion about the future of MFDA and the funeral service profession.

We’re thankful for a board that continues to show up, share ideas, and work together to move our association forward. We look forward to all that’s ahead!

The Mississippi Funeral Directors Association joins in honoring the life and legacy of Dolly Parton.

Throughout her remarkable career, she was celebrated not only for her music and artistry, but also for her generosity, philanthropy, and commitment to giving back. Her influence extended far beyond the stage, leaving an enduring mark on countless lives.

We remember Dolly Parton with gratitude for the legacy she leaves behind and the many ways she made the world a little brighter.

As Dolly says “If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.” 🤍

We're grateful to the Voices of Good News podcast with HelloNation for having our past president, Shay Chedotal, and NFDA Representative, Bo Murphy, lead the conversation about the future of funeral service.

Together, they discuss how funeral professionals across Mississippi are adapting to changing family needs, the importance of continuing education, and how state and national associations work together to support funeral directors and the communities they service. We are so passionate about the work we do as funeral professionals and are proud to share insight on how we evolve with the times while putting the families we serve first.

Thank you for the opportunity to share our work and mission of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association. We hope you enjoy it!

This year, MFDA was fortunate to have Shay Chedotal leading our association as President, and we couldn't be prouder of the passion and heart she brought to the role. Shay's dedication to our members and to the funeral profession as a whole made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for her leadership.

At the 2026 LFDA/MFDA Joint Convention, that impact was recognized with three well-deserved honors: the MFDA Past President Award, the NFDA Past President Award, and Funeral Director of the Year.

Shay, thank you for everything you've poured into this association and this profession. It was truly an honor to have you at the helm. 💙

Congratulations, and thank you for your service!
