Happy Father’s Day!

Today we honor the men who faithfully lead their families, point their children to Christ, and seek to follow God’s call in the home.

Scripture reminds fathers of a great responsibility:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might... and these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children." (Deuteronomy 6)

God calls fathers to be spiritual leaders, teaching their children not only in formal moments, but throughout everyday life:

• When you sit in your house
• When you walk along the way
• When you lie down
• When you rise

Faithful fatherhood is more than providing for physical needs, it is pointing children to the Lord daily.

As we honor our earthly feathers today, let us also give thanks to our heavenly Father, who sent His Son to redeem us so that we might receive adoptions as sons and daughters (Galatians 4:4-7).

All glory to our Abba Father!

🎓 Congratulations to 2026 graduates!

This season is worth celebrating. Years of hard work, learning, perseverance, and growth have led to this moment. But for the Christian, graduation is not the end of learning, but another step in the lifelong “School of Christ.”

Disciples of Jesus never stop growing, learning, and being transformed by God’s Word.

As graduates step into a new season, may they continue to:

📖 Read Scripture faithfully
🙏 Pursue wisdom daily
✝️ Keep learning Christ

“Continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed…” -2 Timothy 3:14

The goal is not simply academic success, but lifelong faithfulness. Pray for the graduates in your life that they may continue learning in the School of Christ!

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Mothers are teachers from the very beginning—from first words… to first prayers… to lifelong truth.

Today we honor the women who have faithfully poured truth into the next generation—often in quiet, unseen ways.

A mother’s teaching leaves a lasting imprint.
Scripture reminds us: “...forsake not your mother’s teaching.” (Proverbs 6:20)

Behind that command is a beautiful reality: God uses mothers to shape hearts with His truth.

And this means something powerful for moms today:
👉 Don’t forsake teaching your children eternal truth.

Teach them:
• The goodness of God
• The holiness of God
• The reality of sin
• The beauty of grace
• The call to obedience
• The wisdom of relationships
• And above all… Christ

Because no one else has the same opportunity to shape their hearts day by day.

To every mom who is faithfully teaching her children about who God is, what He has done, and why it matters—your work matters more than you know.

And to those who can look back and remember a mother (or mother figure) who faithfully taught them—what a gift.

Faithful teaching today builds a foundation that lasts forever!

Why does covenant theology matter in children’s ministry?

Because it answers a foundational question:
Who are our children in relation to God?

Scripture is clear—God’s covenant promises extend to believers and their children (Genesis 17:7; Acts 2:39).

Children’s ministry is about faithfully passing down the promises of God—
from one generation to the next.

When covenant theology shapes our ministry:
📖 We teach the whole story of redemption
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We disciple with generational purpose
⛪ We treat children as part of the church today

Because the next generation doesn’t just need programs—
they need the promises of God.

What is covenant theology?

It’s the big-picture truth that God relates to His people through covenants—His promises.

It traces a cohesive story of redemption in Jesus Christ from Genesis to Revelation and organizes Biblical history around three main theological covenants:

The Covenant of Redemption
The Covenant of Works
The Covenant of Grace

The Bible tells one unified story of a faithful God keeping His promises to redeem His people.

And those promises aren’t just individual—they’re generational.

That means our children aren’t on the outside looking in…
they’re part of the story God is telling.

This is why what we teach—and how we teach—matters.

Vacation Bible School is such a special week in the life of the church — a chance to gather kids, youth, and volunteers together to love, learn, and live God’s Word! But sometimes the fun and production can overshadow what matters most: teaching Scripture. 🙌📘

At One Story Ministries, we believe VBS should be more than entertainment — it should be a concentrated time of reading, studying, memorizing, and applying the Bible. Let’s help children actually read from the Bible, understand Jesus and the gospel, and grow in the one story of redemption! ✝️💡
