If you can imagine it, we can create it! Play by Design is a group of playground designers and building consultants who work with community volunteers to produce custom-designed play structures for toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children. All members of our team are Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CPSI) with broad experience in the community-built field as former employees of a world

-renowned playground architect. Examples of our work during that employment can be found throughout North America, as well as in Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Our mission is to create unique, safe, and affordable all-inclusive play structures that provide a recreational environment in which all children can grow physically, socially, and cognitively. Our creative structures are well known for their inclusion of imaginative play and sensory-stimulating activities. Our process is one that unifies communities and empowers their members by bringing them together to design, organize, and construct one-of-a-kind playgrounds and park structures. What sets these structures apart from commercially available playground equipment is the aesthetically sensitive architecture that respects the essence of the surrounding area and reflects its historical, architectural, and cultural features. What makes them treasured assets in their communities is the sense of pride, ownership, and accomplishment built into them by the hands of volunteers.

Huge congrats to the Alpharetta community in Georgia and the completion of Wacky World Playground. It’s a stunner! I know we say this over and over but it’s the community’s that we work with that makes us love what we do so much 😊. Thank you! (Also - check out lee with the jackhammer).

Community was more than just a concept for the 1,500 volunteers who helped rebuild Alpharetta’s beloved Wacky World playground at Wills Park.

As I work on the website, I thought I would share a little bit about our Logo. Just like our playgrounds, our logo was custom-designed to represent the 4 pillars of our company's mission :)

🔵 The blue section of our logo at the bottom represents our dedicated team and 30+ years of expert project management. This is the bedrock upon which your community’s vision is built. From the moment we begin, our team brings passion, precision, and care into every detail.

🟩 The green section of our logo represents the heart of the community. We know that "many hands make light work," and together, we create something truly extraordinary. The multiple green lines represent your ideas and values that shape the vision, and together we bring it to life! It also represents the options we bring to your design development and build process, tailoring everything to fit your community's unique needs.

🟧 The orange section represents our unwavering commitment to inclusive play. We believe that what works for children with disabilities works for all children. Our playgrounds are designed so every child, no matter their ability, can experience the joy of play, sparking connection, growth, and joy for all! The figure in our logo illustrates this support, our team lifting yours, and your community coming together to champion all abilities.

💖 The pink section at the top is the custom-designed playground that reflects the vision, effort, and heart of everyone who made it happen.
