If you have been to Cimarron National Grassland, please consider taking this survey to help Katharina, a grad student at K-State, with her master's thesis. All responses will be anonymous, and the gathered information will be sent to the Cimarron National Grasslands managers so that they can make more informed decisions about the area. She's changed things up so you can click on the survey link directly. We would go to this every year of we could. One of the most unique events you'll attend in Kansas! Elk Falls is located in Elk County in southeast Kansas. It's only 1.5 hours from Wichita and Emporia and 2.5 hours Hutchinson and Topeka. No matter where you live, it's worth the drive. Poo Poo Platter anyone?

It wouldn't be a festival without food! Elk Fall's Outhouse Festival, Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19th!!!

No goosing in Gridley! Because of the many incidents of goosing in Gridley (Coffey County, southeast Kansas), city leaders in 1911 passed an ordinance against it. The Gridley ordinance is thought to be the only town in the nation to outlaw the practice. The city council's original minutes and the published ordinance can be seen at City Hall, 503 Main.
