🍂🎃 OVER 1,000 PEOPLE. ONE INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY. 🎃🍂

WOW, DECATUR!!! You absolutely SHOWED UP for our 4th Annual Fall Festival, and we are still smiling thinking about Saturday! 🧡

With OVER 1,000 attendees, we more than DOUBLED our attendance from the previous two years! Every station sold out, the kids were having an absolute blast, and everywhere we turned, we saw families laughing, making memories, and enjoying everything the festival had to offer.

And THAT is exactly why we do this! ❤️

💊🏡 WHAT'S HIDING IN YOUR MEDICINE CABINET?

We all have them...old prescriptions, medications we no longer need, or bottles that have been sitting in the cabinet long past their expiration dates.

But did you know that keeping unused medications around can increase the risk of accidental poisoning, medication misuse, and even prescription drug abuse?

That's why the Decatur Township Drug Free Coalition, in partnership with the Decatur Township Police Department and Kroger, is proud to host a local collection site for DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day! ❤️

✅ Safe and secure disposal
✅ 100% anonymous
✅ No questions asked!

Simply gather your unwanted, unused, or expired medications and drop them off. We'll make sure they're properly disposed of!

🚫 Please note: No liquids, needles, or inhalers will be accepted.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Protects children from accidental poisoning.
🔒 Reduces opportunities for prescription medication misuse.
💊 Helps prevent medications from falling into the wrong hands.
🌎 Keeps harmful substances out of our waterways and environment.

A safer community starts with simple actions we can all take.

❤️🤍💙 October Prevention Partner of the Month! ❤️🤍💙

The Decatur Township Drug-Free Coalition is proud to recognize MSD Decatur Township Administration as our October Prevention Partner of the Month!

Today, I had the opportunity to present the recognition to Assistant Superintendent Chris Gearlds on behalf of the district administration.

This recognition celebrates their partnership with our coalition in developing and implementing the RESET Student Education & Intervention Program. This is a collaborative effort designed to provide education, early intervention, accountability, and support for students involved with ni****ne or THC.

What makes this partnership so important is the shared belief that prevention is about more than responding to a behavior. It’s about asking, “What does this student need?” and making sure students and families have education, resources, support, and opportunities to make healthier choices moving forward.

From district and school administrators to school police, student support staff, and our coalition, RESET has truly been a collaborative effort.

We are grateful to MSD of Decatur Township Administration for being willing to think differently, work alongside us, and invest in an approach focused on the health and well-being of our students and families.
