Meet Beth, an Indiana Donor Network advocate. Here is her story:

"I received a new pancreas on June 7, 2008, after 20+ years of uncontrollable diabetes. Thanks to my donor hero, Angelica, who gave me a second chance that day, I can now live a normal life, enjoy my grandkids and spend time with my family and friends. I have also been part of the Youth Ed Team and have volunteered and given back to Donate Life Indiana for over 14 years."

Meet Sarah Taylor, manager of Vital Link Donation Center at Indiana Donor Network.

Sarah and her team specialize in tissue authorization and family conversations, serving donor heroes and their loved ones. The department handles donor operations by taking referral calls from community partners, including hospitals, hospice facilities and coroners to determine eligibility, and provides education about donation to families.

"Alex always had so much laughter, love, joy and energy. He loved his son, music, family and friends. Alex wanted to be change. In Alex's own words, "I don't want to be underestimated, I want to be change.” Alex not only changed our lives, but changed the lives of five strangers through his wonderful gift of organ donation. This Mother’s Day, we hold space for both love and loss. ❤️

Brandy Heath is honoring her son Alex, not only for the joy he brought in his 24 years, but for the lives he saved through organ donation. His gifts changed six lives forever.

While grief remains a daily journey, Brandy finds comfort and connection through Mothers Forever, a support group for moms whose children gave the gift of life. Together, they share stories, tears, laughter and the unbreakable bond of motherhood that continues beyond loss.
