Tomorrow (Monday, June 😎 is last day to register for the Build a Bird feeder DIY event. Our friend will lead the instruction. All materials including birdseed will be provided. $10 registration per bird house to cover the cost. Click the link below or scan the QR code to register. And then we will see you on Tuesday at 6!

Well we forgot how busy the day before our first marker always is and we neglected to take many pictures and post about opening day tomorrow! Come visit all the vendors and stop by our booth (8:30-noon) for:
Herb, produce and some flower starts
Eggs
Various herbs
Baby Pac Choi
Mini romaine lettuce heads
Salad greens
Garlic scapes
Fresh onions
Bunching/green onions
Kale
Chard
Radishes
Rhubarb (very limited)
And our feature produce of the week: horseradish greens
And will have gorgeous bouquets and adorable mini vases.

We have a deal with the raccoons here at KayLeo…we’ll leave them alone, if they’ll leave our chickens alone. But when we found this juvenile raccoon the other morning by our back porch, we figured we had to get involved and help out. We think it fell out of a tree by our house. We kept it in a kennel for a couple days with some heating pads and bottle fed it some kitten milk. After a couple days it perked up and got its energy back. We set it out in a box by the tree the other night and hoped for the best. After crying out for its mama for a little bit, she came down the tree and got it. We’re glad and relieved it worked out. And hopefully it will remember our kindness when it’s eyeing our chicken some evening.

While checking on the fig trees in our high tunnel we found a pleasant surprise: A praying mantis nest!
