Everyone say hello to Kenzie! 💕🐰

Kenzie was captured as a stray in Indianapolis, and she’s so happy to have a safe, cozy place to call home while she waits for her forever family. 🏡❤️

This adorable girl is extra soft, with fluffier fur than your average bunny, making her just as cuddly as she looks! ☁️🐇 She enjoys gentle pets while she’s relaxing and might even sit in your lap for a little while before hopping off to continue her important bunny adventures. 🥰

Kenzie is a hay enthusiast 🌾, a big fan of her bell toy 🔔, and has a mischievous streak! If you leave a sheet within reach, don’t be surprised if she decides it belongs in her pen—and adds a few decorative holes along the way! 😂🪡

A great opportunity to learn how to care for your elderly or special needs rabbits!

New at Midwest BunFest:
🐰 Resources for Senior & Special Needs Bunnies 🐰

Stop by to chat and find supportive products for your senior and special needs rabbits.

This new area offers support for senior and special needs bunnies through specialty products and expert advice. It will be located in the Emerald Room (near the Hop Shop, Oxbow, and Silent Auction) to answer questions and show sore hock boots, first aid kits, medical bunny wraps, and more. Dr. Susan Borders and Lisa Edwards have developed the senior care and special needs products.

Lisa Edwards operates Bunny Boyz, a private sanctuary for special needs rabbits. She will have bunny painting, where bunnies “paint” and make beautiful abstract art from atop of a plastic covering that protects them from paint. Lisa will also auction a unique piece of art, and have other art pieces that are available for purchase. Proceeds from all of her art fundraisers will benefit the rescue rabbits of Columbus House Rabbit Society, Ohio House Rabbit Rescue, and Bunny Boyz.

For more detailed or complicated questions regarding your senior or special needs bunny, you can Sign up for an "Ask A Vet" session that will allow you to sit down for a one-on-one 10-minute chat with a rabbit veterinarian. The cost per session is $25, which will be donated to Ohio House Rabbit Rescue. This is a wonderful place of learning for those who don't have a rabbit-savvy vet in their area or maybe want advice or a second opinion on a specific case. (Note: Only verbal advice will be provided, not medical care).

We know shelters and rescues across our community are facing the same challenges, and we know everyone is doing everything they can. But right now, IACS is FULL, and we desperately need adopters and fosters to step up!

We have appointments scheduled throughout the entire week for animals who need our help, but we have nowhere to put them. We desperately need kennel space to open up so we can continue helping animals in our community.

One of her favorite things is relaxing on top of her box and keeping watch over her little world. 📦🐰 She enjoys being petted when you’re outside her enclosure, but can feel a bit unsure if you enter her space. The best way to win Chiquita over? Sit quietly, give her room, and let her make the first move. When she feels safe, she’ll come hop over to investigate you on her own terms. 🥹💗

💖🐇 Meet Danvers! Also known as Penelope or PP! 🐇💖

This big, beautiful girl has a sweet personality, oodles of charm, and just the right amount of sass! 👑💕 She’s always happy to see her people and is ready to steal your heart (and maybe a few snacks! 😋).

🥬 The way to PP’s heart? GREENS! 🥗 Cilantro and kale are among her favorites, and she gets positively excited when her salads arrive! She’s usually a tidy girl, but sometimes her litter box needs a little digging and redecorating. 🛠️😂

🥰 PP LOVES attention and will happily run right up to you for pets and affection! She prefers keeping all four paws on the ground rather than being picked up, but she’ll tolerate it when necessary for important bunny business, like nail trims. 💅🐰

🏡 She’s figured out she can hop out of her x-pen, but why escape when she can relax in her space and wait for her favorite humans to visit? ❤️

🚧 One little warning: if you’re blocking PP’s path, you might get a tiny ankle nip that says, “Excuse me, coming through!” 😂👑 This girl knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to speak up!

🦸🐇 Meet Rogue! 🐇🦸

Rogue came to IHRS as part of a large confiscation. Like many of the rabbits in her group, she was treated for an upper respiratory infection. The good news? 🎉 She’s finished her medication and is happily sniffle-free! 💕

🥬🌾 Rogue loves her hay and salads, but let’s be honest… treats might just be the way to her heart! 🍓😋

🏡 With free roam of her room, Rogue loves exploring her surroundings and discovering the world around her. She’s still learning to feel comfortable with pets, but she’s making wonderful progress and discovering that humans can be pretty great! 🥹❤️

🌟 Sanctuary Sunday Spotlight: Meet Fitz! 🌟
Hi, I’m Fitz! 👋🐰 I was born in rescue, and while my parents and siblings have all been adopted, I get to stay with the wonderful rescue humans because I’m a little differently abled — and a whole lot special. 💖

A couple of my legs don’t work quite right, and I get dizzy and topple over sometimes. I even had to have one eye removed because lying on my side caused painful infections. But don’t worry — I’m all healed up now, super happy, and loving life with my soft bumpers, delicious hay, and salads filled with my absolute fave: fennel! 🥬💚

Every night I get to cuddle on the couch while my people watch TV. I munch my salad, explore the couch, snooze on my humans, and give them gentle nibbles when I’m ready to head back to my comfy pen. I even have bunny neighbors who are differently abled like me! Once I’m fully healed from my neuter, I might get to move in with them — how exciting is that?! 🐇✨

Because I can’t hop or use a litterbox, my foster caregivers do a lot for me. But I’m a proud guy — I keep myself nice and clean and live my best “Fitzy” life every day. 💪💗
