We had a fantastic time at our May Mix & Mingle at Hurricane Eddie's IRB! It was the perfect place to celebrate and connect with our members.

In recognition of National Foster Care Month, we collected donations for Hero To A Child to support their mission of providing stability and support for children in foster care. Thank you to all of our members who contributed!

We were also proud to present:

A $2,000 check to Beach Art Center to help provide summer kids camp scholarships
A $500 check to Vacation Donations to support their mission of reusing and recycling within the community

A special thank you to Michelle at Hurricane Eddie’s, along with Alex, Brooke, and the entire crew, for making our group feel so welcome and ensuring everyone had a wonderful time. We love Hurricane Eddies!

In honor of National Foster Care Month this May, IRB Home is proud to partner with Hero to a Child who empowers, uplifts, and supports children and young adults impacted by abuse & neglect.

We invite you to support this effort by donating one or more of the requested items. Contributions can be brought with you to this event, where your generosity will help directly impact the lives of local youth.

Hygiene:
-Feminine hygiene products
-Shampoos/conditioners especially those for curly/ethnic hair
-Hair products specialized for curly and/or ethnic hair
-Body wash - men and women
-Acne/pimple patches
-Deodorant for men and women

Items:
-Ear Buds
-Headsets
-Reusable water cups/bottles
-Luggage, duffle bags

Food:
-Ramen cups
-Mac and cheese
-Cup of noodles
-Other non-perishable/ quick or microwavable meals

Another local group has requested items for outdoor summer activities:
-Garden hose
-Slip n slide
-Hammocks
-Outdoor games

Happy Birthday to one of our amazing Board Members, JT Moore!

JT has been a dedicated part of the Board for many years and previously served as Secretary. Even after her term in that role, she continues to step up whenever needed, and we truly appreciate her ongoing support and leadership.

JT coordinates all of our volunteer shifts and generously contributes raffle prizes for events. Her positive energy, commitment, and leadership make such a difference to our organization and community.

JT thank you for everything you do for IRB Home. We are so grateful for you and hope you have a wonderful birthday filled with love, laughter, and celebration.

We couldn’t let the day end without sharing this *THROWBACK* … all the way back to this day in 2019. Our last Beach Fest. Having one in 2027 or even 2028 still isn’t guaranteed, but we’re taking steps to see what we can do.

First off… how in the world did we pull off 11am to 9pm. 😅 (for perspective, Taste of IRB is 3pm to 9pm and that’s a 15+ hour day from set up to tear down for our team and our amazing city guys who help keep things running smoothly).

IF Beach Fest DOES come back, it’s going to be a version that’s MUCH easier to accomplish and clean up after.

But to do it, we’ll need 5 crucial things:

1) official approval from the IRB Home Board
2) approval from the City of IRB
3) approval from Pinellas County
4) approval from the State
5) VOLUNTEERS - this event, even in a smaller scale, is an undertaking & many hands make a light load!

…That’s a lot of hoops to jump through and so, still NOT guaranteed.

Just thought we’d take a moment to reflect and say: If you want an event like Beach Fest to come back, or want to contribute to our other events like the Taste of IRB, The Putt-Putt Pub Crawl, or the Holiday Joy Drive…join us at our Quarterly Meeting — details to come here… and/or Sign up for e-mail updates on our website! IRB Home is open to all. 🏝️✨
