Zuckerberg aims to simulate human biology at the cellular level, pushing AI research toward the cure and prevention of all disease. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is investing 500 million dollars into a high performance computing cluster dedicated to creating virtual models of every human cell. The goal is to understand how cells work, how they get sick, and how to make them healthy again without touching a single patient.

The computing power will rank among the top 50 supercomputers in the world. Researchers hope to simulate immune responses, drug reactions, and disease progression years before symptoms appear. The project will generate massive biological datasets and train AI models to predict cellular behavior. CZI is also funding 10 new research institutes focused exclusively on AI powered cell biology.

Zuckerberg wants to simulate your cells before they fail. Priscilla Chan wants to cure the diseases that still have no cure. Half a billion dollars is just the down payment on immortality.
