The Foundation is Promoting Health Care Excellence Through Philanthropy. Better health doesn’t happen overnight. And it doesn’t happen alone.

At Hutchinson Health Foundation, community-first partnerships and donor-powered investments are creating the future of health care, right here in our own backyard. We make grants to organizations in Hutchinson, Dassel, Cokato, Buffalo Lake, Hector, Stewart and other nearby towns to help power local health care initiatives. We work closely with our friends at Hutchinson Health to improve patient experiences, fund new equipment and education, and help address unmet needs. And we support programs and scholarships that make healthier tomorrows a reality for everyone. Donors like you are vital to our work – from the biggest campaigns to the smallest moments. 🎃 A little early Halloween fun! 👻🍬

Our Hutchinson Health Foundation staff, along with some members of the Hutchinson Health leadership team, had a great time trick-or-treating through Hutchinson Health.

It was a fun opportunity to spread some Halloween cheer, share a few treats, and connect with the amazing people who make Hutchinson Health such a special place.

💙 Meet the Board: Roman Bloemke

Roman brings a diverse mix of skills, talents, and perspectives to the Hutchinson Health Foundation Board. He serves on our Board Development and Scramble for Life committees, lending his time and expertise to support the Foundation's work.

We’re also especially grateful for Roman’s talent behind the camera! 📸 He's captured some memorable moments at our events over the years, providing us photos that help tell the Foundation's story and highlight the people who make our work possible.

Outside of the Foundation, Roman stays busy running several businesses, including Welcome Home Management, Woodstone Senior Living, and RBD Photography.

🎉 Congratulations to Emily Vacek, recipient of a 2026 Hutchinson Health Foundation Scholarship from Dassel-Cokato High School!

Emily is attending the College of Saint Benedict, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing degree.

We are honored to support students like Emily as they prepare for careers that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Congratulations, Emily! We wish you all the best as you continue your education and work toward a future in nursing.

💙 Meet the Board: Justin Juergensen

Next up in our Meet the Board series is Justin Juergensen!

Justin brings energy, enthusiasm, and a wealth of knowledge to the Hutchinson Health Foundation Board. He’s always willing to jump in where needed, serving on our Finance, Scramble for Life, and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree committees.

And when we say willing to jump in, we mean it! We’re especially grateful for Justin’s willingness to fully embrace the holiday spirit each year as Buddy the Elf at Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. 🎄

Outside of the Foundation, Justin works for the City of Hutchinson and continues to find ways to give back to the community.

We’re grateful for everything you bring to the Foundation, Justin. Thanks for being such a great sport and for always being willing to help!

🍅🥕2026 Grant Recipient Spotlight: Hutchinson Farmers Market

As another farmers market season begins to wind down, we’re proud to recognize the Hutchinson Farmers Market and the work they do to make fresh, locally grown food more accessible in our community.

This year, the Hutchinson Health Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to support the market’s Power of Produce (POP and POPS) programs, which encourage children and seniors to shop for and enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables.

We’re grateful for the farmers, vendors, volunteers, and organizers who make the market possible each week and help connect our community with fresh, local food.

There’s still time to visit! Stop by the Hutchinson Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoons or Saturday mornings through the end of October and support our local growers and vendors.

🌟 Congratulations to Sadie Kirtz, recipient of a 2026 Hutchinson Health Foundation Scholarship from Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart High School!

Sadie is attending South Dakota State University, where she will begin her studies in Pre-Nursing as she works toward a career in nursing.
