☀️💦 Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival memories from the Centennial Celebration in 1955! Notice a float holding reigning 1954-1955 Water Carnival Queen Mona Nordling riding in an open buggy.
We happen to be partial to the emblem incorporated into the decorations at the back of the float, featuring an image of the Hutchinson Brothers and the wording: "Hutchinson Centennial, 1855-1955, One Hundred Years of Progress". 😄
Building on corner is the S & L Store; to left is Library Square on Main Street.
The Hutchinson Centennial was celebrated during the Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival, June 22-26, 1955.
The five-day celebration featured multiple parades: 2 kiddie parades, a boat parade, antique car parade, twilight parade, and the Sunday parade with 110 floats amid 130 units.
