The local charity that has been selected is Mater Filius of Nebraska. Mater Filius of Nebraska is a nonprofit, Catholic apostolate located in Omaha, NE committed to helping women facing an unexpected pregnancy who find themselves without housing or emotional support. They offer a tranquil home, assistance with healthcare appointments, transportation, spiritual care, nutritious, self-prepared meals, access to child enrichment and a path to independence. We will have two opportunities to support the Spirit of Saint Brigid this year. We are organizing a “Baby Shower” for the mothers and their children in need. We remember those who answered the call not knowing if they would return. Who left behind mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, children who would grow up holding only photographs and memories. Who chose, in defining moments, to place another life above their own. No greater love than this — and yet they gave it, freely, fully, without hesitation. We ask for the courage to be worthy of what they gave us. To build a nation — and a world — that honors their memory not only with flags and flowers, but with justice, with mercy, and with lasting peace. And until that promised day when wars are no more, keep watch over those who still stand between us and the storm. With gratitude beyond words, we remember them. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Let’s hear it one more time for Molly E. and Carolyn P. for their incredible work winning Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians awards in the essay writing contest for the theme “The Irish and the American Revolution: How the Irish affected the outcome of the American Revolution”.

We were overjoyed to celebrate their incredible achievements at our May meeting last night where they shared their thoughts and insights into all the ways the Irish helped the Colonies defeat the British during the Revolutionary War. Thank you ladies so much for a wonderful Irish History Report.

Thanks especially to our Division’s Irish Historian Pamela Griffin Hansen whose hard work in guiding all the entries from our Division could never go unnoticed. Your passion for history and dedication to getting all our essayists to the finish line continues to yield not only award winners, but incredible writing from all those you take the time to assist. We cannot praise you enough for your valuable contribution 💚💚💚
