💛 Baby Blessings began with a moment I couldn’t shake: parents needed diapers for their babies, and I didn’t have enough to give them.

As a mom, I knew how hard it would feel to need something so essential for your child and have nowhere to turn.

That need became the beginning of Baby Blessings. Our first gathering welcomed 16 moms. Today, we welcome around 150 moms each month! 🍼💛

Behind every bag are caring hands—volunteers sorting clothing, matching little outfits, packing diapers and wipes, and thoughtfully preparing something special for each family.

To everyone who donates, volunteers, prays, and makes room for these precious families: THANK YOU. You help parents leave with needed supplies and the reassurance that someone cares.

Someone on Long Island will go to bed tonight wondering how they’ll feed their family tomorrow. 💛

That’s why we keep showing up.

Tuesday through Friday, families come to Helping Hand Rescue Mission for groceries, kindness, and someone who cares. Behind every bag of food is a neighbor with a story—and behind every act of kindness is someone who helped make it possible.

Maybe you donated. Unloaded a truck. Sorted clothing. Packed groceries. Prayed for us. Or shared a post that helped a family find us.

You may never meet the person you helped. But your kindness reaches them.

Hunger doesn’t wait for a holiday. 💛

The Newsday coverage pictured here highlights the loss of SNAP benefits in Suffolk County. Behind those headlines are neighbors wondering how they’ll put food on the table—this week, next week, and through the holiday season.

At Helping Hand Rescue Mission, our food pantry serves local families every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 11 AM–1 PM. That ongoing support continues through the holiday season, alongside our goal of filling 1,500 Thanksgiving boxes for local families.

We need our community’s help with both: keeping our pantry shelves stocked for everyday needs and filling boxes for Thanksgiving meals. 🦃📦

You can organize a food drive, donate pantry staples, or pick up a Thanksgiving box to fill with the requested items. Invite your family, friends, church, or coworkers to join you!

Our Thanksgiving boxes are ready for pickup! This year, Helping Hand Rescue Mission has 1,500 boxes to fill for local families, and we need your help.

Pick up an empty box, fill it with the requested Thanksgiving food items, and help a neighbor enjoy a holiday meal. Invite your family, coworkers, church, or friends to join you! 🍂

📦 1,500 boxes is a lot—but so is the need. 🧡

Our Thanksgiving boxes arrived Friday, courtesy of Arma Container Company! Thank you, Rob and Beth Golove, for generously donating the boxes again this year.

Now we need your help to fill them so we can get them into the hands of local families for Thanksgiving.

Behind every box is a family with a story. The stories touch our hearts, the families are grateful, and we are, too—for everyone who helps make this possible.

Will you fill a box—or two, or 10, or even 300? Gather your family, coworkers, church, school, or friends. Every filled box brings us closer to helping another family gather around their Thanksgiving table. 🦃🍂

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TODAY! 📦🍂

Can you lend a hand to Helping Hand Rescue Mission between 2:30 and 3:30 PM today, Friday, October 16?

We’re receiving 14 pallets, each measuring 48 × 48 inches, of bundled, unassembled Thanksgiving boxes, and we need help moving the bundles by cart into temporary storage!

With limited storage at our main Mission building, we’ll keep the boxes here and pick them up as needed for our Thanksgiving outreach. 💛

A heartfelt thank-you to Arma Container Company for this generous donation and for helping us prepare to feed local families this Thanksgiving!

Even if you can help for part of the hour, we’d appreciate you. Many hands make light work—we can get this done together!
