Call for volunteers today at 2pm for the Community Solidarity Hempstead Food Share. Temperatures are expected to be the coldest of the year with windchills in the -20-30 range.

Every Sunday hundreds of people wait on line to get the groceries the need. By coming and helping you can shave a little time off that wait.

Additional call for winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets & sleeping bags. There are many of our neighbors in desperate need of these items so if you have an old coat, or extra gloves you’d like to donate please bring them down.

For details on getting to the Hempstead Food Share check out - CommunitySolidarity.org

Closing out a year of amazing work by the volunteers at Community Solidarity. Learn how this group created the most efficient hunger relief organization in the country. Distributing over $255 of aid for every $1 spent, Community Solidarity rescued & shared millions of pounds of groceries, reduced Greenhouse gas emmisions by tens of millions of pounds, supplied the most nutritious food in the state and gave hope to thousands. - https://mailchi.mp/communitysolidarity/share_toys_with_long_island_families_in_need-16587550
