Our hearts are broken by the loss of Keith and Susie Black. They were loved by so many, and their absence will be felt deeply throughout Huntingdon County.

Together, they touched countless lives through their kindness, friendship, and service. Through our schools, local organizations, Meals on Wheels, and so much more, they gave generously of their time and their hearts.

We were deeply honored that Keith and Susie had agreed to serve as Huntingdon County United Way’s 2027 Campaign Champions. In their recent questionnaire, they wrote:

“We were both raised to help others and give support to anyone in need.”

Those words reflect the people they were and the way they lived. We are grateful for their commitment to their neighbors and for the lasting difference they made in our community.

Our love and prayers are with their children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss.

Our ribbon cutting and campaign kickoff scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, has been postponed. A new date will be announced at a later time.

Keith and Susie, you will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

“Many hands make light work” has never felt more true!

When it was time to move Huntingdon County United Way into our new home, the Juniata College men’s basketball team showed up and moved our office in just 50 minutes! These young men brought energy, teamwork, and a willingness to help, and we cannot thank them enough.

A special thank-you to Head Coach Greg Curley and Coach Keith Black for helping make this possible. Keith and his wife, Susie, are also our 2027 Campaign Champions—already showing what it means to step up for our community!

Thank you also to our board, Maddie, Jan, Ethan, Alexa and everyone who helped throughout the summer with preparations and the move. So many people had a hand in getting us here, and I am grateful for every one of you.

We’re still unpacking and putting the finishing touches on our new home at 411 Penn Street, but we’re excited to welcome you for our ribbon cutting and 2027 Campaign kickoff on Tuesday, October 20!

Reception begins at 5:00 p.m., with the welcome and ceremony at 5:15 p.m. Come tour the office, meet our campaign leadership, and celebrate with us. Hopefully, those last boxes will be tucked away by then!

Access to dental care matters—and our affiliate agency, Broad Top Area Medical Center, is working to make more care available right here in Huntingdon County.

BTAMC has secured a $1 million grant to begin expanding dental services and is pursuing additional funding for a proposed partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. This partnership would bring three dentists year-round to our community while helping train the future dental workforce.

With BTAMC’s Orbisonia clinic booking new patients 18–22 months out, these efforts address a critical local need.

Huntingdon County United Way is proud to celebrate BTAMC’s commitment to a healthier community. Thank you to their team and the partners helping move this work forward!
