Spirit Of Soccer

Spirit Of Soccer Spirit of Soccer uses the world’s most popular sport to educate, equip and employ vulnerable people in conflict and post-conflict zones around the world.

Explosive remnants of war (often termed ‘ERW’) are landmines and unexploded ordnance (often termed ‘UXO’) left over from past or on-going conflicts. These deadly weapons kill and maim indiscriminately for years after the conflicts have ended – most of the countries where casualties are reported are at peace and according to the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (http://www.icbl.org/intro.php

) 70-85% of reported casualties are civilians – many of them children. Children are especially vulnerable to the dangers of ERW. Naturally curious, children are most likely to pick up strange or shiny objects thinking they are toys, or to try to salvage them for scrap metal. Every two days, a child is killed or wounded by weapons left over from past wars around the world. Even if they survive, a child injured by a landmine will face months of painful recovery and a struggle to afford replacing prosthetic limbs as they grow. Many never return to school and face discrimination and social exclusion. Spirit of Soccer believes that no child should lose their life or limbs to landmines.

In Colombia, every play counts.
We play, learn, and grow together: Football teach us care, prevention, and teamwork.
Through each session, tournament, and festival, we build safer communities and strengthen neighborhoods moving toward a mine-free country.

Spirit of Soccer and Phnom Penh Crown brought an EORE session to Wat Pour Refugee Camp in Preah Vihear, home to over 2,000 children near the Cambodia–Thailand border. More than 300 kids joined the session.

Our team shared vital messages that are necessary for maintaining safe environments.⚽️

We are partnering with Phnom Penh Crown FC to deliver life-saving Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) to displaced Cambodians from the border regions.

In communities affected by explosive hazards, every step can be dangerous. Our mission is clear: to create empowered, safer communities through education and sport.

We train local coaches to deliver a specialized curriculum that combines football training with EORE. This unique approach uses the universal language of football to raise critical awareness about the risks posed by unexploded ordnance and landmines.

Sport builds discipline, teamwork, and resilience. With your support you could help further our goal of protect lives and promote safety.

We are united in our goals. We are united in action. ⚽️

We are honored to stand alongside Phnom Penh Crown FC in launching this life-saving initiative, “Football and the education about mines and unexploded bombs.”

At Spirit of Soccer, we believe football is more than a game. It’s a language of hope, healing and resilience. Together, we’re using the power of sport to deliver vital safety education to displaced youth, helping them reclaim confidence, community and courage in the face of uncertainty.

This project is also in collaboration with Cambodian Authority to Control Mine Action Authority (CMAA).

"We are honored to join Phnom Penh Crown FC and CMAA on this important project," said Scotty Lee, CEO of the Spirit of Soccer.

This partnership represents what athletes stand for. Strength in adversity, unity in action and compassion through competition. ⚽️

This May marked the last training session for Spirit of Soccer Ukraine. Unfortunately, our funding has been cut and due to this we must placed the Iraq and Ukraine project into sleep mode.

Spirit of Soccer thanks the U.S. State Department for having funded this project for years and making our efforts possible.

15 coaches gathered in Chernivtsi, Ukraine to give a training session to over 60 children.

Although this is an emotional time, our team stood strong and continued to serve their communities.

Their passion for the game continues and even though this match is finished… there will always be another game❤️⚽️

Spirit of Soccer thanks each and every coach that risked their life for the betterment of the game and helped us further our mission. Our successes are because of our coaches.
