One of our intakes for today

This is always a bittersweet move. We start with touch and go with these tiny kids. We fight alongside them and grow amazingly attached. Then one day we walk in and they’re these big kids, eating solid foods, romping around, and they don’t need us in quite the same way. It’s time for graduation. It means, no talking to them, only seeing them once a day. It’s that time to “wild up” so they are better prepared for the day we open the door to the great outdoors.

We are grateful that the New York Times really listened and made an effort to give raccoons fair coverage. We just wish someone would interview us and talk about the amazingness of raccoons someday without it being done within the context of rabies.
