WUWF has been hit REALLY hard this week.

Four of our dogs have needed emergency care, and we have spent $10,000 in just one week trying to save them. Last night, we ended up back at Westbury Animal Hospital with another dog, Talia (pic below). She and Miya are both still in ICU, and we are praying they make it.

The bills keep climbing, and we desperately need your help.

Without funding, we will have no choice but to temporarily close intake. We are doing everything we can to avoid that because so many dogs still need us.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us continue saying YES when a dog needs us most.

🙏 Please help us continue saving lives.
If you can’t donate, please share this post. 🐾❤️

Update… she is recovering well from her surgery!❤️
Now we will just pray she recovers well. We worry about sepsis.

We are at the ER again😩. The foster went outside to take the trash out and when she came back in, Bambi’s intestines were hanging out. She has been through so much. First used as bait, and now this.

We will do whatever it takes to save her. We have never had this happen before and are devastated. Our biggest concern is sepsis. She will need lots of prayers.

Please consider donating. We want what’s best for her and three days in the hospital is going to add up. They do not take donations over the phone, but if you live in the area and would like to stop by and make a donation on the account, you can. She is listed under the founders’s name Angelique Strickler, and of course the dogs name, Bambi.

Also adding a picture of the estimate. PLEASE, every dollar counts! Help us raise funds for Bambi.

Meet Rue, she is a five-year-old American Bulldog mix and weighs 37 pounds. 🤗

She has the cutest ears and is the sweetest girl. This little sweet girl just wants to be in your lap or snuggled up on the couch. She is shy at first but comes out of her shell pretty fast. This lovebug rides well in the car and also does good on a leash. 🫶

Rue is dog selective and does well with some dogs but would really love a home where she is the only pup because she enjoys human companionship more! 💗

Rue would love to find a foster so she can decompress outside of the shelter - she has been in there for a year now 🫩

💌 Message us if you are interested in fostering or adopting Rue and learning more!

📍Located in Houston, TX.
🚐 Transport available to most states for an additional $300

Update… she is still at the hospital and is not doing well. Donations are down and we have a lot of dogs in the hospital this week. PLEASE consider donating!!

💔 Miya deserves to survive this.

This sweet 10-month-old girl has tetanus, and watching her struggle is heartbreaking. She is stiff, having difficulty moving, and now experiencing vision issues. She isn’t eating, and this awful disease is taking a toll on her.

We spent half the day trying to find the tetanus antitoxin. Nowhere in Houston had it. We finally found it in Alvin, Tx. and Miya is going to be hospitalized.

Miya is so well-mannered, sweet, and an all-around happy girl. She deserves every chance to fight this.

WUWF saved her off the streets. Now we need to save her life again. 🐾

Please help us get Miya the treatment and care she desperately needs. Every donation, share, and prayer means so much to us.

Please help us save Miya. ❤️

It’s heartbreaking to think about the number of dogs used as bait in dog fighting. We can’t imagine the pain and fear they endure.

Rescues remind people not to give dogs away for free and to spay and neuter their pets, but sadly, not everyone listens.

This sweet girl has been through so much, yet she is one of the most affectionate dogs we have ever met. How she still trusts us, we will never know.

After being attacked by so many dogs, she is still good with other dogs. If only humans could be as forgiving. We have so much to learn from them. ❤️

One of our volunteer transporters picked her up from the Houston SPCA and brought her to our facility. She instantly fell in love with her! Needless to say, she now has a foster home, and we are so grateful that our volunteer saw what everyone else has seen—a sweet dog who deserves a loving home.

WUWF is grateful for the opportunity to give her just that. 🐾 Please consider donating toward the care of this sweet girl. So much goes into caring for dogs like Bambi. Thank you to everyone who supports us and makes this possible.

If you’re creative, love dogs, and enjoy social media, we’d love to have you on our team!

Interested? Please text our founder, Angelique Strickler, at 713-962-9813. Let her know you’re interested in helping with the Social Media Team.
