Congratulations to Houston ISD’s Top 5 Performing English Language Development Interventionists!

We were proud to recognize these outstanding educators for their dedication to student success. Led by our Lodge First Lady, who had the honor of presenting the awards, each educator received a $100 gift card to help support their students’ incentives and celebrations.

Last Saturday, the Brethren, family, and friends of Solidarity Lodge No. 1457 gathered for a memorable Golden Trowel Ceremony honoring Brother Gilbert Medrano for his dedication, service, and commitment to the Craft.

The Golden Trowel Award is one of the highest forms of recognition a lodge can bestow upon a Brother whose labor and devotion have helped strengthen the fraternity and inspire others through his example. Brother Gilbert’s years of faithful service, leadership, and unwavering support of the lodge truly embody the principles of Freemasonry. He served as Worshipful Master during the Masonic Year 2014–2015 and holds the distinction of being the lodge’s second longest-serving Secretary, faithfully serving in that role for eight years.

The afternoon was filled with fellowship, gratitude, and reflection as we celebrated not only a deserving Brother, but also the spirit of brotherly love and service that unites us all.

Congratulations once again to Brother Gilbert Medrano on this well-deserved honor.

Last Friday, May 15, Solidarity Lodge No. 1457 held a meaningful evening of fellowship, reflection, and education during our Past Masters Night and Entered Apprentice Education Program, “From Apprentice to the East.”

The Lodge proudly honored the Past Masters of Solidarity Lodge for their dedicated service and leadership, as well as our affiliated Past Masters whose continued support and contributions have helped strengthen our Lodge throughout the years. Their guidance, sacrifice, and example continue to shape the future of our fraternity.

The evening also featured two distinguished speakers who shared reflections and experiences from their time in the East, offering valuable insight and wisdom to the brethren in attendance. In addition, our Entered Apprentice education program included a lecture exploring the symbolism and lessons of the Entered Apprentice Degree, reminding us all of the importance of growth, learning, and the foundations of Freemasonry.

As a small token of appreciation, each Past Master in attendance was presented with a commemorative Past Master coin in recognition of their service and lasting impact on the Lodge.

Solidarity Lodge No. 1457 was proud to support Houston ISD’s “3rd Annual Our Community Voices”event as a sponsor last May 9th.

Through the generosity and support of our brethren, family, and friends, the Lodge was able to raise funds to purchase 24 backpacks filled with school supplies for students in our community. Each backpack included notebooks, notepads, paper, scissors, glue, crayons, pencils, and other classroom essentials to help students start strong and succeed in the coming school year. The Lodge also donated easels that were used to display children’s artwork during the event.

Community service and supporting education have always been an important part of our mission as Masons, and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact.

Another meaningful evening at Solidarity Lodge No. 1457 A.F. & A.M. during our May Stated Meeting, last May 8th.

We took time to honor and recognize the mothers of our lodge for their love, support, and sacrifices that continue to strengthen our families and our Fraternity. We also conducted important lodge business as we continue working together for the good of the lodge and our community.

The evening was made even more special as we continued recognizing brethren for their years of dedication to Masonry, honoring brothers who have faithfully served the Craft for nearly 40 years and more than 40 years respectively. Their commitment, example, and continued presence remind us of the lasting bonds and values of our Fraternity.

As always, the night was filled with fellowship, camaraderie, and brotherly love.

Last night at Solidarity Lodge, we took time to reinforce one of the most important responsibilities we already uphold as a lodge and as Masons, protecting the West Gate.

We conducted a presentation on Investigational Standards & Procedures, not as something new, but as a reminder of the discipline, care, and intention required in the work we do. Proper investigations are not a formality but are essential to preserving the strength, reputation, and future of our Lodge.

At Solidarity, we take pride in doing things the right way. That means guiding petitioners with purpose, setting clear expectations, and ensuring that every man who seeks admission understands the value of what he is pursuing.

There are no shortcuts in Masonry and that standard is one we continue to uphold.

We were also proud to witness two of our Entered Apprentices and two Fellow craft brothers turn in their work. Their dedication is a direct reflection of the importance of a strong foundation and a proper process.

Strong investigations lead to strong Masons, and strong Masons build a strong Lodge.
