Westbury Community Garden will be partnering with the Texas A&M U AgriLife Extension on an 8 week course called Healthy Bites, Healthy Moves. This series is free and open to the public.
The AgriLife instructor, Jacqueline Montemayor, will do a cooking demo or tasting and provide a recipe at every class. Many of the classes have a gift for each participant that relates to the material taught that day like a vegetable steamer, meat thermometer, & other items.
The course starts Feb 17 and ends April 7. It will be held at the WCG pavilion 10:00-11:30 AM on Tuesdays.
March is National Nutrition Month and teaching healthy eating is part of our mission! All Westbury residents are invited to attend. Visit westburycommunitygarden.org for more info or see the attached flyer.

One of my favorite projects of the WAIC is the Westbury Community Garden. If you have 2:51 and want to see what happens when people work together in a postive way for the community, click this You tube link. So many people have donated their time, talent and treasure to create and sustain this amazing 7 acres of allotment beds, farm land, prairie, apiary, orchard and beautiful greenspace. Thank you!

Heavy trash is being picked up today! Please help Keep Westbury Beautiful for the holidays by not placing any heavy trash at the curb. Put what you can in your regular trash, visit a trash depository, have your contractor haul away his debris. I suspect this could be our last pickup of 2025.
