There was a time Mt. Carmel had a waiting list for families/students who wanted to attend Mt. Carmel. How do you not attract students? The Mt. Carmel Athletic Club, which was independently founded shortly after the school began in 2008, assisted with the sports programs & awarded scholarships to deserving student/athletes. We approached the current administration when it took over but were turned away and said we weren't needed. Interest was lost, and sadly, the school suffered. How do you Not Attract students or families? And how can you shut it down...in the middle of the school year? Wow! Praying 🙏 for all the students & their families... especially the Seniors! Go, Rebel Bulldogs! Go, Rebels!

It is with a sad heart that Mt. Carmel Athletic Club will depart from Mt. Carmel Academy after many years of involvement. It has been our pleasure to serve the students of MCA for all these years. I want to thank all those who have helped us through the years... THANK-YOU! Your generosity was always appreciated & welcomed. Again... THANK-YOU everyone who was a part of us to help MCA in the past! Good Luck MCA in the future. MCAC... We're still in existence... see ya around.

Dwindling enrollment and related financial woes are leading to the closure of the charter school, which has operated in southeast Houston since 2008.
