Every adoption represents countless hours of teamwork, advocacy, support, and families saying YES to providing children with the permanency they deserve.

We are incredibly proud of our team, our families, and everyone who continues to make these moments possible.

A kid in foster care gets a new coat, a birthday, a room of his own — and says almost nothing. The adults in the room read it as ungrateful.

What's actually happening is that he's waiting for the catch.

Somewhere behind him is a version of kindness that came with a bill attached. Something given and then held over him. Something offered and then taken back when he got it wrong. So a good thing arriving doesn't register as a good thing. It registers as a debt he can't see yet.

Gratitude is something you can afford once you trust that the floor stays where it is.

Give it time and give it consistency, and the thank-you comes. It just comes late, and it comes quietly.

Save this for the next time somebody calls a kid ungrateful.

Today, we have the incredible honor of celebrating the Quero Family as they officially become a forever family! 🏡✨
