We’re approaching one month with Patrick!

We saved Patrick from being euthanized at a local animal shelter. He was found as a stray and landed on the euthanasia list for medical reasons. At first, we thought he might be a hospice case but Patrick had other plans.

He’s not just surviving, but he’s thriving!

Patrick stole so many hearts at the shelter (he was even caught hugging a volunteer in his shelter photos) and that hasn’t changed one bit! He loves everyone he meets and truly believes there’s no such thing as too much love. Honestly, we could all learn a thing or two from him.

While Patrick does have lymphoma and mast cell tumors, he’s on a treatment plan and his prognosis is positive. At 7–9 years old, we’re hopeful he still has years of love left to give. Now all he needs is a home to call his own!

Because of his medical needs and heartworm status, we’re looking for a local Texas adopter. We know his person is out there. Could it be you? 💚

New girl Bunny is still settling in, decompressing and catching up on her beauty sleep. Her Amazon gifts have been rolling in, and she opened a couple. Thank you so much to those who sent her something! In time, she will learn she’s deserving of all good things 💕

Bunny is an 8-9 week old Chihuahua mix found as a stray with demodex mange. We recently saved her from euthanasia at BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions. She’ll be looking for a forever home in no time, so she hopes someone out there is falling in love with her!

Adopt Seamus 🍀

Seamus is a sweet floofy ball of energy. He was found as a stray and taken to a local animal shelter. He was showing signs of anemia so he was scheduled for euthanasia but we were able to help him! He was admitted to the ER where he received a blood transfusion and quickly started on his road to recovery.

He’s now around 11 weeks old and growing big and strong! He’s super smart and already catching on to potty training. Seamus loves to play fetch and enjoys all kinds of play. He’s great with kids and loves to just hang out with people. Seamus is a large breed puppy so will be large when fully grown.

He’s in a loving foster home in Houston, TX. Local Texas applicants only for Seamus. Help us find his family so we can save more dogs! www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application

Our most recent save is Bunny.

She’s 8-9 weeks old, weighs 3 lbs and has demodex mange. She appeared on a citizens front porch who reported her to animal control for pick up. The shelter got her started on the appropriate meds and she had a vet check up yesterday. She’s on the right track to healing and with time and lots of love, she’s going to feel like a whole new puppy soon. If you’d like to be part of Bunny’s journey, we’d love your support!

Clover was one of FIVE dogs we saved from our local animal shelter back around St. Patrick’s Day. We saved her and another sick puppy that were facing euthanasia for medical reasons. We later learned Clover was picked up with two siblings and an adult male Pitbull, so of course we had to save them also (their updates will come soon).

Clover had a seroma in her forehead that filled up with fluid which needed to be drained. The fluid returned and was drained a second time, but it’s resolved now. She is a healthy girl and is growing like a w**d! Shout out to FABB for her beautiful prayer blanket 💕

Clover and her two siblings will soon be headed to Dodge County Humane Society in Wisconsin where they’ll find their forever homes. While we typically team up with foster-home based organizations like ourselves, DCHS is a reputable 501c3 shelter and these pups will never be at risk of euthanasia. DCHS has worked alongside local rescues like Lola's Lucky Day for several years and helped save countless Texas lives.

So Wisconsin residents, heads up for some cuteness coming your way soon!

Patrick came from a local animal shelter. He was scheduled to be euthanized for medical reasons. At 7-9 years old, shelter volunteers suspected he’d be a hospice case as he has several masses along one side of his body.

We picked him up and worked to figure out all his medical needs. We confirmed he has mast cell tumors and lymphoma. The type of lymphoma he has is low grade so with or without treatment, he could still have several years ahead of him. So we’re focusing on what we can fight: his mast cell tumors.

Right now Patrick is on a cocktail of meds working to shrink those masses with the hope that surgery will soon be an option. In the meantime, he’s soaking up all the love! He recently went to a splash pad for the first time ever and enjoyed his first golf cart ride. He sleeps on a princess bed and enjoys peaceful naps throughout the day. This shelter boy is living the dream ❤️

His future looks promising! Now we just need a family to fall in love with him so he can be adopted into the forever home he deserves!

Life’s been a little heavy behind the scenes for us. Bear is doing amazing, but two of his sisters haven’t been well. One is battling an aggressive cancer that’s progressing quickly, so she’s needed a lot of our focus. Bear’s a cancer warrior and we’re hoping some of his strength + magic finds its way to her ✨

We’ll have updates on everyone else soon 🙏🏼

Nemo went into foster care after a week at Neighborhood Veterinary Centers - Nederland, where he was being treated for bloody diarrhea that wasn’t improving, despite all the right meds.

Before that, he was picked up by animal control and taken to BARC animal shelter where he landed on the euthanasia list. But now? Just look at him.

In a home, Nemo is a completely different dog. He’s happy, relaxed and is finally able to just be a puppy. Sometimes the cure isn’t found in a syringe or a pill, sometimes it’s found in a home!

He’s a certified LOVER BOY. He’s a velcro pup and wants to give paw and be next to you all the time. He spent the whole car ride home from the vet holding hands with his foster mom. He’s dog friendly and already doing great at potty-training. Nemo still needs a neuter but will be ready for his forever home soon enough.

Help us find this sweet boy a family! He’s sweet, silly and ready to love you a lot! He’s currently in Houston, TX but can travel out of state: www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application
