In just one week, Open Door Mission served 469 individuals and families through our food distribution program.

Behind that number are parents putting meals on the table, children with full stomachs, and neighbors receiving the help they need during challenging times.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and partner who makes this possible. Together, we’re providing food, meeting needs, and making a difference in our community.

Mission Minute

Today’s Mission Minute highlights an urgent need at Open Door Mission.

Our cafeteria A/C system and walk-in cooler are both in need of critical repairs, and we need your help to ensure we can continue serving the individuals who rely on us every day.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Open Door Mission distributes groceries to families and individuals in need right from our courtyard. As many as 185 people are served in a single day — and during the summer heat, the need only grows.

Our CEO, Brandan Thomas, is running TEN 5Ks this June to raise $10,000 for a portable shade structure and cooling units to keep our guests, volunteers, and food safe from the summer heat.

As temperatures continue to rise, so does the number of neighbors coming to Open Door Mission for food assistance. Right now, we have an URGENT NEED for two items to help us serve them safely and with dignity:

1. A portable cooling unit to help keep our neighbors cool while they wait for groceries.
2. A portable canopy or structure to protect food from direct sunlight during distribution
