Executive Director Barry Ward will be available to answer your questions, and guests are encouraged to bring photos or videos for more specific guidance.

We’ll also have hands-on opportunities outside! Join Bailey Rohde to help pot up seedlings for the upcoming planting season. As a thank you, participants may select a tree from our nursery and take home supplies such as pots and bamboo stakes, while supplies last.

Earth Month is a reminder of what’s possible when we invest in the places we call home, and for Trees For Houston, that work continues season after season. 🌱

This planting season, thousands of trees took root across Greater Houston, helping create a cooler, greener, healthier city.

And this year, we celebrated an incredible milestone: our one millionth tree planted. 🌳

But the work continues. Your gift helps us plant, protect, and promote trees where they’re needed most—  through community plantings, tree giveaways, education, and long-term canopy growth.

Giving is easy: make a one-time gift today or become a monthly donor to help sustain this work all year long.

Arbor Day may come once a year, but the impact of planting trees lasts for generations. 🌳

In partnership with , Trees For Houston planted 38 trees at Browning Elementary, helping bring more shade, a stronger canopy, and healthier green space to the community.

As Houston looks ahead to a big summer of international soccer, this planting is a reminder that major moments can also inspire meaningful local impact.

Here’s to more trees, more shade, and a greener future for Houston.

Trees do more than beautify Houston. They help protect it. 🌳

This Earth Day 🌎, we’re celebrating the role trees play in creating a cooler, healthier, more resilient city — and the people helping grow that future across Greater Houston and beyond.

At Trees For Houston, every tree planted is an investment in stronger neighborhoods, lasting shade, and a better Houston for generations to come. 💚

Want to celebrate with us? Plant a tree, care for the ones around you, volunteer, or share why trees matter to you in the comments.

It may not feel like summer ☀️ just yet, but now is the time to help trees prepare for the heat ahead.

In Houston, young and newly planted trees can face extra stress as temperatures rise. A little proactive care now can help them stay healthier, establish strong roots, and better withstand the hottest months of the year.

A few simple ways to help:

💧Water deeply and consistently
🪾Refresh mulch, but keep it away from the trunk
🌱Clear grass and weeds from around the root zone
🌳Remove dead or damaged branches if needed
✂️Avoid heavy pruning before summer stress sets in

Leaves are how trees make food, so keeping as much healthy canopy as possible is especially important for young trees. The care we give now helps protect the shade, beauty, and long-term benefits our communities will count on for years to come.
